Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a rosary at 6:45 PM and a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Brandon Fiscus, Garrett Cameron, Jeff Walter, Khalid Hussein, Chris Uhing, Sawyer Uhing, and Zach Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are all of Bill’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.

William Joseph Uhing was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934, in Wynot, Nebraska, to William and Bernadine (Frigge) Uhing. He grew up on the family farm near St. James, Nebraska and attended St. James Elementary School. He graduated from Wynot High School as the valedictorian in 1952. Bill turned down a full ride scholarship to college to begin his career in farming. He married Cleopha Mauch on April 20, 1955, in Menominee, Nebraska. They moved to a farm near Niobrara, Nebraska for a short time until moving to their farm north of Yankton, South Dakota in 1962. While Bill was farming, he also worked at Yaggie’s in Yankton for 13 years and then at Gehl Manufacturing for 30 years. He retired from farming in 1997 and Bill and Cleo moved into Yankton. Bill retired from Gehl Manufacturing in 2008.

Bill was a member of St. Agnes Sigel Catholic Church and later Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed taking bus trips all over the United States and a plane ride to Vegas. He loved visiting, helping neighbors, and going to Church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren taking bike rides on the bike trails out by the lake and loved babies.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Uhing of Menno, South Dakota; nine children: Sharon (Dan) Fiscus of Coleridge, Nebraska; Lynnette Uhing of Yankton; Diane (Don) Cameron of Yankton; Jan (Jim Doerr) Walter of Crofton, Nebraska; Julia (Todd Hauger) Hussein of Yankton; Jean (Rod) Merchen of Yankton; Tom Uhing of Mission Hill, South Dakota; Nicole (Mike) Suhr of Yankton and Mike (Tina) Uhing of Colman, South Dakota; 29 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren with two on the way; six brothers and sisters: Kenneth (Dolorita) Uhing of Wynot, Nebraska; Jeanette Whitney of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Joleen (John) Mannino; Claudette Wieseler; Joyce Salvatori; and Janice (Jack) Meyer all of Bellevue, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: William Uhing Jr; Joseph Uhing and Timothy Uhing; and three brothers and sisters: Stella Goeken; Elaine Ingberg and Robert Uhing.

Ivo was born June 25, 1922, to Joe and Anna (Burbach) Kathol in Hartington. He married Bernadette Jansen Nov. 23, 1943, in Menominee. Ivo lived and farmed in the Hartington area all of his life. He was also involved in the trucking business, bee keeping and woodworking.
He was stationed in the Pacific while serving in the army during World War 11 from Feb. 21, 1945 to Aug. 31, 1946. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Bow Valley, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Hartington VFW Post #5283. Survivors include his wife, Bernadette Kathol, Hartington; nine children and spouses, Karen Ann and LaVerle Heimes; Hartington; Mary Lou and Jack Wolhoy, Yorktown, Iowa; Bernice Milburn, Albion; Yvonne and John Huennekens, Yankton, S.D; and Mary Lou Kathol, Hartington; Janice and Gary Holzbauer, Wagner, S.D; Marjorie and Jim Climer, Hartington; Rita and Rich Pedersen, Hartington; Lilia and Joel Hansen, Omaha; 34 grand-children; a brother and spouse, Clarence and Dorothy Kathol, Hartington; two sisters, Gertrude Hochstein, Hartington; Marie Janssen, Ackley, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Leona Kathol, Hartington; Vivian Kathol, Medford, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger: granddaughter,

Duane Joseph Hochstein was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Hartington, to Alfred and Threasa (Kathol) Hochstein. Duane served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1953. He married Delores Mae Goeken Oct. 19, 1954, in Fordyce. Duane has lived and farmed north of Hartington most all of his life. He also worked at the Hartington Cheese Plant for 13 years. Duane liked deer hunting, fishing, horses and going to auctions and sales. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, the Hartington VFW Post #5283, and a member of the National Quarter Horse Association. Surviving Duane is his wife, Delores, Hartington; eight children and spouses, Lou Ann and Terry Fischer, Platte Center; Rita and Paul Volk, Battle Creek; Debbie and Jerry Heine, Hartington; Bob and Valerie Hochstein, Grant; Chuck and Julie Hochstein, Hartington; Jeff and Mary Hochstein, Yankton, S.D; Kevin and Jyl Hochstein, Coleridge; Patty and Todd Pinkelman, Wynot; 33 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara and husband, Melvin, Kohles, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
