Survivors include his wife, Grace; four children: Victor (Kathy) Whalen, of Baraboo; Linda Stolte, of Rock Springs; Pamela Ernstmeyer, and her fiance, Tom Hatch, of Reedsburg and Michael (Jodi) Whalen, of Loganville; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a special friend, Eli; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Tyler Ernstmeyer; one great grandson: Dylan Stolte and three brothers: Herbert, Leonard and James Whalen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Melancthon Creek at a later date. There will be a visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
