Cal was born on March 11, 1926, in Richland Center, WI, a son of Buford and Gwenlyn (Railton) Cooper. On October 11, 1947, he married Mildred Mercer in Richland Center. Cal worked on for the department of corrections on the prison farm for 28 years (1953-1981) and retired from Dodge Correctional Institution. He was a park ranger at Olympic National Park and had a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty. Cal enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing cards and being outdoors. He was a great storyteller and loved all people and animals.

Cal is survived by his two daughters, Shirley (Rob) Tagstrom of Killeen, TX, and Avis (Lewis) Sierra of Lake Mills, WI; three grandchildren, Jackie Dowland, Scott (Emily) Feiner and Heidi (Anthony) Currington; two step-grandchildren, Patrick Sierra and Jackie Kaprelian; three great-grandchildren, Ry Feiner, Ashley Strege and Jason Strege; five step great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jonah Kaprelian and Hugh, Conrad and Lucian Campbell; three sisters, Louise Schadauer, Frances Cooper and Kathleen Crary; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred in 2014; one brother, Harold “Harry” (Ann) Cooper; one brother in infancy, Buford Thomas Cooper three brothers-in-law, Joe Schadauer, Ivan Cooper and Donald Crary.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Kohls Community Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.

He was born on August 10, 1924 in Richland Center, WI, the son of Louis and Madeline (Adams) Duhr. He married Dorothy Mercer on December 3, 1949. Hale was employed for 23 years as a patrolman by the Rock County Highway Department. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a former member of Moose Lodge # 197.
Hale Duhr is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Dorothy, three sons, Reginald (Connie), Ronald (Colleen), James, five grandchildren, Kelly, Brandy, Laura, Erin, Jamie, six great-grandchildren, Madison, Cooper, Brendan, Logan, Kyler, and Shawna, three sisters, Helen Chadwick, June Holtz and Mary Sharp, one brother, Gerald as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy and three brothers, William, Keith and Kenneth.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13th at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1422 Center Ave., Janesville with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Duhr family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Pastor Craig Peach will officiate and burial will be in the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL on Wednesday morning from 10AM until the time of the service at 11:00.
