He was born April 13, 1920 to the late Henry and Amelia (Mitchell) Fike in LaValle, WI, he was the youngest of five children. Norbert graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1938. On November 20, 1941 he married his high school sweetheart, Bernice Byrnes in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, WI. On April 13, 1942 he enlisted in the Air Force and was assigned with the 120 Airborne Squadron in England as a flight engineer. After eleven bombing missions his plane was shot down over Switzerland where he was interned until hostilities ceased. He was released from the service on April 28th, 1944. While in Switzerland he became interested in fixing watches and clocks. After returning home he joined an apprenticeship program in watch repair and continued in the trade all his life. Before moving to Beloit in 1962, Norbert and Bernice owned and operated jewelry stores in Colby and Adams, WI. He was employed at Dubes Jewelry store in Janesville for 45 years. Norbert enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He and his wife enjoyed entertaining at home where Norbert was famous for his old fashioned cocktails. They also enjoyed traveling. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Mark) Weinand of Eagle River, WI, Jean Fike of Beloit, WI, sons Gary Fike of Warrens, WI, and Greg Fike of Beloit, WI: four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a daughter Judy, sister Carol Selmons and brother-in-law Harold, brothers Gerald and Norman, sisters-in-law, Angel (Gerald) Fike and Mary (Norman) Fike. Norbert's Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at OUR LADY of the ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday in the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be private.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1918, in Lime Ridge and was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Walsh on July 1, 1941, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. After the ceremony they ate, danced, went home to milk the cows and returned to their wedding dance. Mr. Fike was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1307 of Evanston and had helped to build the Fox Lake Community Center, and did much of the scroll work for the Second Federal Bank in Fox Lake. Following his retirement as a carpenter he was employed as custodian for St. Bede Church and School in Ingleside, where he was a church member, and a Knight of Columbus St. Bede Pius X Council. In addition to running his saw filing business for many years he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and helping his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his children, Rita Ness of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Robert (Charlotte) Fike of Addison, Ill., Ellen (Cary) Knascik of McHenry, Ill; grandchildren, Michelle Jordan of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Nicole Ness of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Scott (Karen) Fike of Round Lake, Ill., Thomas Fike of McHenry, Ill., Jennifer Knapcik of Fox Lake, Ill., Mark Knapcik of McHenry, Ill; great grandchildren, Brittany and Kelsey Jordan of Round Lake, Ill., Gary and Katelyn Fike of Wonder Lake, Ill., David Horton of Round Lake, Ill; brother, Norbert Fike of Beloit. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his sister, Carol Seamans; and his son-in-law Harold Ness. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008, at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lk. Rd., Fox Lake, Ill. A Tuesday 10 a.m. funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, Ill. They farmed until they retired and moved to Rock Springs. In 2006 she went to live with her daughter Carol in Reedsburg and for the last two years she resided at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.



She is survived by her three daughters, Carol (Richard) Costerisan, Ardith (Tim) Curtin, Audrey (Doug) Hill; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, Lloyd (MaryAnn) Schara and William Jr. (Judy) Schara; two sisters-in-law, June and Grace Schara; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garvin; grandson, Michael Costerisan; sisters, Josephine Kopf and Leona Mueller; and brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, Virgil, and Dean Schara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be donated in Adeline’s name.



The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center for the special care they showed Adeline during her stay.

Pfohl on February 14, 1935. She preceded him in death on January 14, 1999. Otto farmed in the townships of Sumpter, Merrimac, and Baraboo. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Donna) Mueller of Baraboo, Allan (Mary) Mueller of Baraboo, and James (Yolanda) Mueller of Texarkana, Ark; four daughters, Beldona (Warren) White of Baraboo, Elaine Larsen of Elkhorn, Janice (Wayne) Steinhorst of Oregon, and Betty Crum of Wisconsin Dells; 24 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Wolkow of Reedsburg, Celia Hewitt of Columbus, and Helen Englehart of Madison; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Leona, Otto was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Debra Ann Larsen; infant twin grandsons, Howard and Robert Larsen; and a son-in-law, Tom Larsen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastors Deb and Steve Ohrtman officiating. Interment will take place in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services, at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, LaVerne and one grandson, Michael Costerisan. Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 4, 1991 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Fr. Kent A. Schmitt and Fr. Lorin Bowens officiated. Friends called on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home where there was a prayers servie held at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
