Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Thursday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is assisting with the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Raven Suing, David Suing, Matt Aune, Amy Mulloy, Gregg Kathol, Kyle Suing, Patrick Tweedy and Staci Kolm.

Viola was born on January 24, 1919 at St. Helena, Nebraska to Henry and Frances (Schmucker) Bonertz. She grew up on a farm near St. Helena and she married Jerome Suing on January 21, 1947 in St. Helena. They farmed east of Hartington for a year and then moved to a farm near Pleasant Valley, Nebraska. In June of 1982 they moved into Hartington and Viola worked in the Holy Trinity cafeteria for a few years. In January of 2015 Viola moved into the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. She is the last surviving child of the Henry Bonertz family.

Viola was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Guild, the Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America and the Hartington VFW Auxiliary Post 5283. She loved to play cards, garden, do embroidery work and watch baseball games. She especially loved to spend time with her children, grandkids and great grandkids.

Viola is survived by 8 children, Ron and Joann Suing of Crofton, NE; Gary and Patricia Suing of Kearney, NE; Karen Aune of Volin, SD; Geralyn Otteman of Yankton, SD; Mary Lou and Virgil Kathol of Hartington, NE; Duane and Joan Suing of Crofton, NE; Michele and Ray Tweedy of Yankton, SD; Tami Suing of Battle Creek, NE; 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a sister-in-law, Clare Yeaton of Dover, NH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerome on January 2, 2014 at the age of 94, a granddaughter, Traci Kathol, a son-in-law, Steve Aune, 2 sisters, Rose Thoene and Aurelia Huber, 7 brothers, Linus, Bruno, Ted, Bill, Pete, Dick and John Bonertz.

Perry then worked at Morgen Manufacturing for over 30 years until it closed. He was the last one to walk out of the building and lock the door. Then, Perry worked for Nabisco, Cox Auto Supply and Mount Marty College as a night security officer. He was a very hard worker and took much pride in his work. Perry was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed Wheel of Fortune night with Don and Vi and watching baseball games, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Perry also liked woodworking and bowling in his younger years. Above all, he loved visiting with his close friends and being around his grandchildren. Perry is survived by three sons: Dean Slagle (Julie DeYonge) of Yankton, Galen Slagle of Sioux City, IA and Mike Slagle of Rapid City; two grandchildren, Aidan and Brooklyn Slagle of Rapid City; two sisters, Karen Folkers of Yankton and Cleo (Dave) Masur of Clearlake, CA; one brother, Dallas Slagle of Pueblo, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Junior married Diane Gutzmann on July 25, 1981. He worked for many years for the Milton G. Waldbaum Co., Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, and Lorensen Lumber in Pender and then drove truck for Lux Brothers of Hubbard. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Junior is survived by his wife of Emerson; one daughter, Melinda Davis and husband Adam of Lexington; one son, Chris and wife Deana of Aberdeen, Md; two grandchildren; three brothers, Gene and wife Laura of Mission Hills, S.D., Alan of Lyons and Garry and wife Jackie of Wayne; six sisters, Carol and Jayne Ruzicka, both of Clarion, Iowa, Joyce Kleinshmit of Yankton, S.D; Marlene Bittner of Albion, Donna Mausbach and husband Joe of Norfolk and Sister Kathy Ruzicka of David City. He also is survived by father-in-law Leonard Gutzmann, brother-in-law Joe Gutzmann and wife Diane and Danny Gutzmann and wife Johnene, all of Emerson. He had many nieces and nephews which he loved, several of which he referred to as “His Sweeties.” Junior was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Donna Lou Gutzmann, sister-in-law Patsy Gutzmann, brother-in-law Gerard Kleinschmit and one grandson.

After returning home he complete his education at UNL in Agricultural Economics, graduating in 1969. After a year he returned home to Lammers Ranch to farm with his two brothers. Norman married Phyllis Kremer on August 5, 1972 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton, Ne. He was an avid reader and looked forward to his campouts with his friends and family. Norman loved supporting his Trojans, Huskers and Twins. He had a great commitment to God and faith which he exhibited through his support of his parish and schools with his time and talent. Norman was a member of St. John the Baptist choir throughout his adult life and was active in 4-H, parish councils and school boards, the Catholic Order of foresters and the Blue Ribbon Committee. He also sang with the Men of Note for many years. Roger was born on December 11, 1938 at Hartington, Nebraska to Ludwig Anthony and Rosalia Catherine (Steffen) Lammers, the oldest of 7 children. He attended the Lammers Ranch Country School and St John the Baptist Elementary School in Fordyce. Roger graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1956. Farming was his life's vocation.

Roger was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he served on the parish council and was a lector for Sunday masses. He also served for 9 years on the Advisory Council for the Farm Credit Services. He liked to read and attend cattle sales. Roger's hope was that as he grew older he would be able to live on the farm where he was born and raised. God granted him this wish.

Roger is survived by a brother, Kenneth and Juanita Lammers of Hartington; 3 sisters, Janet and Ron Kramer of Pierce, NE; Judy and Rodney Mace of Tyndall, SD; Kathy and Mick Reifenrath of Crofton, NE; a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Kremer) Lammers of Hartington and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rose Mary Lammers and a brother, Norman Lammers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Craig Loecker, Rev. John Pietramale, and Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 2 p.m., and 7 p.m., and a vigil service and video tribute at 7:30 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be his sons, Merle, Larry, Dennis, Allen, Glenn, Don, Marvin, and Dave Loecker. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on Feb. 20, 1919, to Sigismund and Mary (Mauch) Loecker on the farm northwest of Fordyce. He was baptized, received his First Communion and was confirmed in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee. He graduated from the eighth grade at St. Boniface School. He married Vera Elizabeth Albers on Aug. 21, 1939, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce. They rented a farm 3 ½ miles northwest of Fordyce until he purchased his farm three miles north of Fordyce in March of 1943. In 1976, they moved to Hartington. Vera died on Sept. 19, 1997, at the age of 79 years. He then lived with Dennis and Vivian Loecker and Paulette and John Dreesen until he moved to Pine Lane Assisted Living in August of 2002. In April of 2005, he moved to Beverly Health Care Nursing Home where he resided until his death. He was a trustee for St. Boniface Parish in Menominee, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ministry of Praise, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Perpetual Adoration in Hartington. Emil loved baseball, playing cards, and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by ten children and their spouses, Merle (Sandy) Loecker of Hartington, Larry (Judith) Loecker of Evanston, Illinois, Dennis (Vivian) Loecker of Fordyce, Allen (Sheila) Loecker of Mitchell. SD, Glenn (Mary) Loecker of Fordyce, Gladys (Arnold) Jones of Louisville, Don (Denise) Loecker of McCook, Marvin (Deb) Loecker of Olathe, Kan., Paulette (John) Dreesen of Hartington, David (Deb) Loecker of Fordyce; 39 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.
Preceding Emil in death were his parents; wife, Vera; one granddaughter, Kristi Loecker; five brothers, Henry, Martin, Ignatius, Victor, and Robert; four sisters, Katherine Zavadil, Ann Kuchta, Loretta Lammers, and Rose Fischer.
