Survivors are her husband, Clarence; two sons, Willis and Merle Koenig, both of Madison; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Nellie) Kuhnau of rural Sauk City and Mrs. James (Gloria Jean) Pierce of Merrimac; a brother, Floyd Goerks of Denzer; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Diske of Leland, Mrs. Lucille Plants and Mrs. Aletha Porter, both of Madison and Miss Phyllis Goerks of Denzer; nine grandchildren; and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin Koenig on May 16, 1936; a brother, George Goerks, Jr; and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Leland at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, with the Reverend Bruce Beyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at the GNEWIKOW-SCHWOEGLER- ZIMMERMANN FUNERAL HOME in Sauk City.

She was employed by Oscar Mayer for over 50 years. Lucille loved people, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, country music and trips to Ho-Chunk. Lucille was a great cook and was always known to be a sharp dresser. She was loved and will be missed by her sister, Phyllis Goerks; sister-in-law, Lorraine Goerks; nieces and nephews, Willis Koenig, Donelda Kuhnau, Gloria Pierce, Duvonne Cummings, Stormy Diske, Donna Bailey, Diane Ruhland, Linda Prater, Reggie Westphal, Roxi Miese, Georgia Reetz, Chester Goerks, Clay Goerks, Greg Porter, Cheryl Cody and many great-nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvia Dunse, Mildred Diske, Floyd Goerks, George Goerks and Aletha Porter; and a nephew Merle Koenig. A funeral service was at Aug. 6 at Denzer United Methodist Church in Denzer.

Death18 October 2006Kenneth LeRoy Porter died on 18 October 2006 at age 81 Kenneth LeRoy Porter, age 81, died on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk Prairie. He was born in Mazomanie on May, 22, 1925, the son of the late Roy Porter and Pearl (Slauson) Magnasco. Ken was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during World War II in Italy and North Africa. He was united in marriage to Aletha Goerks on Dec. 3, 1949. She preceded him in death on May, 8, 2001. He was a construction foreman for Findorf for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Wisconsin Laborer's Union for over 50 years. Ken enjoyed all sports, was an avid eagle watcher, a member of EAA, and an enthusiast of planes, trains, and automobiles. Survivors include his son, Greg (Phyllis) Porter of Sauk City; daughter, Cheryl (George) Cody of Sauk City; two special grandchildren, Cory and Alesha Cody; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Plants, Phyllis Goerks, and Loraine Goerks. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents; and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant brother; and step-father, Peter Magnasco. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at HOOVRSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, and also at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be held in Sunset Memory Garden in Madison. Ken's family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home for their special care of Ken.
