  • Irene Margaret Piper was born on 1 November 1907 at Illinois.
  • She was the daughter of James Renwick Piper and Nancy Emily Blair.
  • Irene Margaret Piper died on 7 December 1968 at Illinois at age 61 Miss Irene Piper, loyal member of the Oakdale Reformed Presbyterian Church, entered into her eternal rest on December 7, 1968, at the home of her cousins, Robert and Estelle Piper.

Irene lived an active and fruitful life for sixty-one years. She was a graduate of Geneva College, and held a Master's Degree from the University of Illinois. She taught school for thirty-nine years, four of which were spent in the schools on the Island of Cyprus.

Irene will be remembered by members of the Women's Synodical that has been held and could greet nearly all members by name. She was a faithful member of the W.C.T.U.

She is survived by two sisters and three brothers, Evelyn, Mrs. C.A. Stevenson; Helen, Mrs. Archie Woodrom; John, Dwight, and Wilmer.

The text: "Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice," used by her pastor, Rev. Charles Sterrett, was very appropriately chosen for her memorial service.

The Oakdale congregation would join the Oakdale Women's Missionary Society in wishing to express appreciation for her life and work. She will be missed from our fellowship.
