He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Weber, pioneers of that community, who immigrated from Eichsfell Rhenich, Prussia, and lived for many years on the old homestead near Fairplay, Wis. Mr. Weber married Marie Alt, February 22, 1876. He was a steadfast member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception church, Kieler, and passed away fortified by the last rites of his faith. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles Ihm, Mrs. John Wiederholt, Mrs. John Kaiser, and Mrs. Leonard Hartung, two sons, Joseph and John Weber, all of Grant county; two sisters, Mrs. John Demuth, Woodstock, Minn., and Mrs. Joseph Wiederholt, Lisbon, N.D; one brother, Jacob Weber, Dubuque; also 48 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, two daughters and two sons, preceded him in death several years ago.

Weber died on 19 January 1970 at age 88 Mrs. Elizabeth Wiederholt, 88, of Kieler, Wisconsin, died at 5:10 p.m., Monday, January 19, 1970, at the Platteville Municipal Hospital in Platteville, Wisconsin. Family and friends called after 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, at the Didesch Funeral Home in Dubuque, Iowa, where the rosary was said at 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 21. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 22, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wiederholt was survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Placke, of Dubuque, Ia., Mrs. Delvan (Irene) Timmerman, and Mrs. Ervin (Alice) Timmerman, both of rural Cuba City, Wis., and Mrs. Cletus (Mary) Timmerman, of Dickeyville, Wis; three sons, Joseph Wiederholt, of Dickeyville, Wis., Louis Wiederholt, of St. Donatus, Ia., and John Wiederholt, of Cuba City, Wis; 40 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Weber, of Cuba City, Wis.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, May 14, at Immaculate Conception Church at Kieler, Wisconsin, and burial was in the church cemetery. She was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albertus (Margaret) Bertjens, of Dickeyville, Wis., and Mrs. Clarence (Evelyn) Demuth, of Hazel Green, Wis; two sons, Arnold Wiederholt, of Cuba City, Wis., and Ervin Wiederholt, of Dickeyville, Wis; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Havertape, of Hazel Green, Wis., and Mrs. John Loeffelholz and Mrs. Paul Berning, both of Cuba City, Wis; and three brothers, Nick Timmerman, of rural Cuba City, Wis., Ben Timmerman, of Rockford, Ill., and Raymond Timmerman, of Benton, Wis.
  • He was buried after 1 July 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Kieler, Grant, Wisconsin.
