She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Killam of Platteville; two sisters, Ruth Hughes of Potosi and Velma VanNatta of Lancaster; and a brother, Lawrence (Doris) Chase of Belmont. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria VanNatta, in 1988; and by her parents. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the MELBY-BENDORF FUNERAL HOME, 1245 N. Water St.,Platteville. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Perry Pearson and Darin Jenson will officiate. Friends may call from 11 a.m.until the time of the service on Tuesday at the MELBY-BENDORF FUNERAL HOME, Platteville.

She was preceded by her husband, her parents and sisters: Leota Wilkinson and Frances Skoda and baby brother, Johnny. Virginia liked nothing more than to be at home, taking care of her house and being with family. She became "G G" to her great-granddaughters and loved being with them.
