  • Robert Carl Holtz died on 5 December 2011 at age 88 Robert Carl Holtz, age 88, of Loganville, formerly of Reedsburg, passed away suddenly on Monday afternoon, December 5, 2011, at his home in Loganville. He was born on July 30, 1923 in rural North Freedom, the son of Adolph and Winifred (Dickie) Holtz. On December 8, 1944, he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Stackman. Bob and Dorothy made their home in Reedsburg for many years. Together they owned and operated Holtz Lime & Gravel for over 25 years. In 1986, they sold the business to their daughter and son-in-law. Bob continued to work part-time as a driver spreading and hauling ag lime to generations of area farmers for many years. He was always proud to tell people about the farms he knew so well and the fields he had traveled many times over the years. Bob and Dorothy enjoyed many great times dancing to their favorite bands – something he always said helped keep him young. In 2005, they moved to Loganville near their daughter. Bob always said that the move was the best as he enjoyed being in the country and watching the farmers plant and harvest. He also enjoyed countless hours fishing at his favorite private pond. Survivors include his wife of nearly 67 years, Dorothy; his daughters: Jean (Earl) Keller, of San Luis Obispo, CA and Sharyl (Darrell) Schlieckau, of Loganville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is also survived by his "little white dog", Dolly, who was his best pal and was beside him to the very end. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond, and his sister, Edith Davis. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, private family funeral services will be held with interment at the Greenwood Cemetery in Reedsburg. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

Memorials of remembrance to the Sauk County Health Care Center Gazebo Fund would be appreciated. A very heartfelt thank you to the entire family at the Sauk County Health Care Center. We are a blessed community to have this facility, but without the special staff it is only a building. Everyone there – from the administration, maintenance, dietary, housekeeping, nursing and especially dedicated CNAs made her feel very safe this past year and a half in her own little "corner of the world." Each of you truly are angels here on earth. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

  • David M. Scholl was born on 21 April 1946.
  • He was the son of Melvin Daniel Scholl and Myrtle Emilia Else Giese.
  • David M. Scholl died on 2 July 2014 at age 68 David M. Scholl age 68, of West Milwaukee passed away on July 2, 2014 in his sleep. David was born on April 21, 1946 in Madison, WI the son of Melvin and Myrtle Scholl. During his early childhood David lived in Darien and Delavan, WI. When he was 11 years old the family moved to Green Bay where he attended school and graduated from East High School in 1964. After high school David attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The best of times growing up were spent playing baseball with his father and brothers. With a ball diamond in the front yard, David with the baseball, and Daryl with the glove… they were always ready. The best of times growing up were spent playing baseball with his father and brothers. Believe it or not, there were times when tackle football was played indoors. Shooting hoops in the backyard was another highlight. So now you know why David was an avid sports fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Green Bay Packers. Now for his love of the trucking industry, that came from his father. David would go to his dad's garage and help on the weekends and his summers off. David began working for his father's trucking company, Bulk Transport, in McFarland, WI. He assumed ownership after the death of his father in 1973 and remained there until 1978. He then moved to Milwaukee where he continued his career with Tank Transport as the Operations Manager until his retirement in 2013. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his buddy, Kevin, at Three Lakes. He loved to travel and see the world. He spent last January in Hawaii with his dearest friend Beth Onosko and recently returned from a month of touring Italy with his good friend Peter Papara. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his many loving friends. He was a soft spoken man with a huge kind heart. He had a unique ability of making friends with all the people that crossed his path. Our lives will not be the same without David; he is missed and will remain in our hearts always. David is preceded by his father, Melvin D. Scholl and his nephew, Eric D. Rasmussen and his step-father, Franz Wyttenbach. David is survived by his mother, Mrytle Scholl Wyttenbach of Sauk City, WI; two sisters, Elaine Scholl and Karen (Scholl) Rasmussen both of Green Bay, WI; two brothers, his twin, Daryl (Lorena) Scholl of Milwaukee, WI and Duane(Diana) Scholl of Silverton, OR; nieces, DeAnna (Michael) Barr of Palm Coast, FL, Lisa (John) Basten-Spychala of Bayview, WI, and Brenda (Andy) Filopoulos of Greenfield, WI; his great-nieces Jen Basten, Amanda (Lance) Basten-Gunnlaugsson, Kaytlyn Ribich, Emily Ribich, Erika Spychala, and Grace Barr; his great-great-nephews, Rowan and Layton Gunnlaugsson. Special to David were Nancy Madden and her daughter, Nell Alk. Nancy said that David was like a father to Nell and to that she is thankful. To Beth Onosko a special thanks to you for making the last years of David's life full of life, laughter and love. To this we are forever thankful. Visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 4 to 8pm at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL. Additional visitation on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 10am to 11am at ST.
