Ken is survived by his wife Deniece Carver; daughters Stacey (Bill Meyer), Tana (Ed Batchelor), Nicole, Renata (Kent Zehner), Lauren (Beau Walter); grandchildren Darienne, Liam, Cecelia, Aidan, Marlee, Henrich; sisters Delphine (Robert Walton), Janette, Ann (Corliss Deets), Arlene, Alice, Phyllis; brother Rudy (Ilene), brother-in-law William Carver Jr (Kitty Garfoot). He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Cecilia Feiner, sister Cele Feiner, brothers-in-law Anthony Ruhland and Al Umhoefer, parents-in-law William and LaVilla Carver. A mass in memory will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain Tuesday Feb. 18 at 11 am with Fr. Mike Resop officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 17 from 4 to 7 pm at the church and again Tuesday from 10 am until time of mass. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Parish. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Corliss was born on November 8, 1929 in Richland County, graduating from Richland Center High School in 1947 and from Richland County Teachers College in 1949.

Corliss started his teaching career in Dane County. After 2 1/2 years, he was drafted in the Korean Conflict, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.

He received his Bachelors degree form UW-Platteville and earned his Masters degree credits from UW-Madison.

On August 13, 1955, he married Ann Feiner of Spring Green and came to Fort Atkinson, teaching 5th and 6th grades, moving on to Elementary Principal. He spent 38 years in education, always interested in children and retiring in 1988. Thirty-three of those education years were spent with the Fort Atkinson School District.

Corliss chaired several elementary committees and also served as President of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators. He was active in the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and served on the Board of Directors for three years.

Corliss was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving as a past commentator and usher.

Corliss also was a member and past president of the Fort Atkinson Lions Club from 1987-1988.

He coached his sons along with many other boys in the Fort Youth Baseball Program as well as being involved in Boy Scouts.

One of his greatest loves was the being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing; catching walleyes, northerns, and muskies in Northern, WI, Ely, MN, and Canada.

Survivors include his wife Ann of Fort Atkinson, sons, Michael of St. Germain, WI, Roger (Susan) of Middleton, WI and daughter, Mary (Daniel) Meilke, Fort Mill, SC, and two grandchildren, Carly and Eric Deets.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Gordon, and a sister, Lucille Hardy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00AM with Father Peter Auer celebrating.

Visitation will be after 9:00AM on Saturday at the Church until the time of the Mass.

Death21 May 2009William Samuel Carver died on 21 May 2009 at age 91 William Samuel Carver, 91, died May 21, 2009 at his home, two months after he was diagnosed with cancer. Born January 16, 1918 at North Clayton, WI, the son of William Gilbert and Jessie (Dull) Carver, he was 9 years old when his family moved to Spring Green. He served as a tank driver in the European Theater of World War II. When taken as a prisoner of war in the Battle of the Bulge, he managed to escape and eventually returned home to begin a new life with his wife, LaVilla Sainsbury of Reedsburg whom he had married in 1942. They spent the rest of their lives in Spring Green where he worked for many years for Rob Prouty building milk houses, then for Clarence Scholl as a carpenter before working on his own as a contractor. In the late 1950s he started Bill's Welding and Repair Service. Besides doing all kinds of repair work, he thawed frozen pipes in many homes and barns throughout the area during the coldest of winter weather, using the portable welder which he built. He was a gifted fixer and creator. The entrance gate that he built at the North Park in Spring Green is one of the places his craftsmanship can be seen. He retired in 1980. Bill was a member of the Spring Green American Legion Post #253. Survivors include his children, Deniece Carver (Ken Feiner) and William Dale Carver (Kitty Garfoot), both of Spring Green; two sisters, Myra Creasey of Spring Green, Viola (Conrad) Barnum of Rochester, IN; five granddaughters, Stephanie (Bill Meyer) of Blue River, Tana of Madison, Nicole and Renata, both of Plain and Lauren (Beau Walter) of Milwaukee; great grandchildren, Darienne Frank and Cecelia Feiner of Plain, Liam, Aidan and Marlee Meyer of Blue River and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years; his brothers Lloyd, Merlin, Myron and Al; his sisters Villa Carver, Lee Ergle and Iola Beloungy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green. Pastor Larry OConnell will officiate with burial in the Spring Green Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Spring Green American Legion Post #253. Visitation will be held at the Richardson Stafford Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 5 to 8 pm, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Carol was born on Oct. 1, 1935, to Harland and Mildred (Johnson) Forseth in Arena, Wis. She grew up in Hyde, Wis. She was proud to be a niece to Aunt Annie and Aunt Lena, owners of the Hyde Store. At age 10, she tended the store, later sharing stories of its heyday. Carol graduated from Arena High School in 1953 as salutatorian and Madison Business College in 1955. On April 14, 1956, she married Fred Ruetten. They raised six sons on a beef, then dairy farm in Big Hollow, northwest of Spring Green. A gardener and preserver, she hosted wonderful home cooked meals. She worked at St. Mary's in Madison, Gruber Cheese in Plain, and Arthurs in Spring Green. In their later years, Carol and Fred moved into Spring Green, to a newly built home. People frequently complimented her beautifully landscaped yard. Carol was a daily newspaper reader and crossword puzzler. She enjoyed documenting her ancestry, for which her family and friends are deeply grateful. She also tended to the gravesites of her ancestors. She passed on her Norwegian heritage by making lefse, and Fred's German heritage by making sauerbraten. Her loving family and dear friends will miss her smile, sense of humor, and laugh, while sharing a beer and catching up. Survivors include son, Jim (Teri Nachreiner) of Spring Green, Rick (Marie) of Roxbury, Dan (Connie Stevens) of Spring Green, Scott (Edie Brant) of DePere, Jerry of Spring Green, and Chris (Stephanie) of Watertown; and 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Katrina, Grace, Alexis, Tess, Kylie, Olivia, Dena, Hunter and Jake. She is also survived by siblings, John (Anne) Forseth, Dave (Gail) Forseth, and Anita (Ron) Jabs; brothers and sisters in-law, Chuck and Bev, Ruetten, Fred and Evelyn Peck, Madlyn Frederick, Dorothy McCluskey and Elaine Kurt. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her parents, Harland and Mildred; and mother and father-in-law, Alma and Joe Ruetten, Patti Forseth, Ronald and Donna Forseth, Joe McCluskey, Paul Frederick, Francis Kurt, Joe and Shirley Ruetten and Gerald Ruetten. A Mass in Memory of Carol will take place at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Spring Green, on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. A burial in the church cemetery will take place in the spring. He was instrumental in developing the plans for building St. Mary Church, rectory, and school. He was a strong advocate of Catholic schools and supported his parish, school, and diocese throughout his life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He is survived by his 8 children, Allan (Jane) of Spring Green, Mark (Susan) of Eden Prairie, MN; Gary (Elizabeth) of Richland Center, Mary Ann (Tom Darden) of Reliance, TN; Paul (Julie) of Richland Center; Greg (Rosemarie) of Little Rock, AR; Jane of Madison; Tom (Vicki Faber) of Richland Center; twenty-two grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Donna Jean Langone of Beloit and Charlene Schoenmann of Spring Green; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agatha, parents Jesse and Glennie, one infant brother, Vilas, and one sister, Velda Miehe. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 31 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 160 W. Fourth Street, Richland Center. Father Robert Letona will officiate with burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass. She was born on November 2, 1932 in Richland Center the daughter of Jesse and Glennie (Norman) Peckham. She was married on June 5, 1950 to Paul “Buck” Schoenmann. Char was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and worked for 33 years at Greenway Manor Nursing Home as a CNA. She loved to garden, was a great cook, and was especially known for her Chicken & Noodles and Blueberry Torte which were present at EVERY family function and holiday get-together. Ho-Chunk had a special place in Char’s life, she loved the people and even received Christmas cards from the valets…not because she was a “big spender” but she did make them cinnamon rolls! Her family was her proudest achievement in life. Family was her focus with nothing coming before her kids. Her legacy will perpetuate through them.

Survivors include her 7 children, Sue (Dale) Pforr of Spring Green, Scott Schoenmann of Spring Green, Peggy (Ron) Siko of Madison, Jeff (Sandy) Schoenmann of Waukesha, Greg (Julie) Schoenmann of Stoughton, Heidi Schoenmann-Westley (Chuck Cashman) of Spring Green, Mark (Kristen) Schoenmann of Prairie du Sac, 18 grandchildren, Dana Jones-Grossman, Grant Jones, Bart and Nathan Pforr, Matthew, Adam and Megan Siko, Jordan and Sidney Schoenmann, Graham, Paige and Michael Westley, Jeff and Casey Schoenmann, Holly Loeffelholz, Jennifer Fritsch, Lexi and Abi Cummings, 11 great grandchildren, Evan and Emmie Grossman, Sawyer Jones, Shawn Siko, Oliver, Liesel and James Schoenmann, Morgan and Johanna Fritsch, Eivin and Levi Loeffelholz, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her beloved dog, Weegee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Glennie Peckham, her husband, Paul “Buck” Schoenmann, 3 siblings, Velda Miehe, Cameron Peckham and Donna Jean Langone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Spring Green with burial in the church cemetery with Fr. John Silva officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Social distancing is suggested. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. John’s Catholic School Endowment Fund. A life celebration/open house will be held at a later date.
