Chuck served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Lucille McClain on June 30, 1950. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 1979. Chuck was formerly employed as a livestock buyer for the Dubuque Packing Company. He was currently employed as a route carrier for the Telegraph Herald. Chuck enjoyed cooking, playing Euchre and darts. He looked forward to breakfast at Breezy's. Charles was survived by Two Daughters: Patti K. (Dave) Schmelzer, Rickardsville; Dubuque County, Iowa. Sharon M. Peter, Dubuque; Dubuque County, Iowa. Three Grandchildren: Cole (Michelle) Schmelzer, Rickardsville; Dubuque County, Iowa; Wade (Lori) Schmelzer, Dubuque; Dubuque County, Iowa; Kim (Todd) Kerkenbush, Dubuque; Dubuque County, Iowa. Nine Great-grandchildren and longtime friend: Bernice M. "Bea" Bauer and her family. One Sister: Gayle Wigglesworth, Clarksdale; DeKalb County, Missouri. One Brother: Donald (Thelma) Richardson, Lawton; Comanche County, Oklahoma. Nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by: a Great-grandson, Eric Kerkenbush; four Sisters; Ruth Richardson, Bessie Brummet, Blanche Waterbury and Naomi Miller; and four Brothers: Roy, Arthur, Carl and Russell Richardson.
