She held a variety of jobs throughout the years, including working at Area 10 Agency On Aging and Kmart as a supervisor, cashier and worked the service desk. She was a professional cake decorator and flower arranger, and taught cake decorating classes for years.

Some of her passions included dancing, fishing, auctions and garage sales. She was very creative and loved working with her hands. Her heart was filled with love for her grandchildren. She also loved animals.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Luana is survived by her daughter, Christina Miller (Richard) of Charleston, IL and son, Jeremy Oliver (Katie) of Solsberry, IN; grandchildren, Alisa Richards, Joshua Richards, Heather Miller, Addyson Oliver, Blake Oliver; brothers and sisters, Duane Sumwalt (Emmilee), Lanette Pugh (David), Luella Edwards (Ronald), Lilly Viksjo, Chester Sumwalt (Karen), Lavonne Babbitt, Lila Rikli (Curt), Dennis Sumwalt (Debbie), James Sumwalt (Diane); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Mark Viksjo.
