He attended Dodgeville High School and graduated in 1976. He continued education at Southwest Technical College with an associate’s degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant at Marklein Builders Inc. for 37 years. He also was a major contributor in the renovations at the Cobblestone Court in Dodgeville, WI.
He is preceded in death by his father James Marklein.
He is survived by his wife Joan Marklein (Sailing) and daughter Amanda Marklein, mother Marlene Marklein (Stoltz), his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cliff and Ruth Sailing, his three brothers: Dave (Lori) Marklein, Dan (Janene) Marklein, and Dennis (JoAnne) Marklein, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue (Tom) Gantenbein, his brother-in-law, Tom Sailing. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Caleb (Autum) Marklein, Dusty (Trisha) Marklein, Colin Marklein, Melanie (Darren) Woller, Jessica (Tracey) Dunn, Kristin (Jay) Lindner, and Tyler (Lindsay) Marklein. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews: Mackenzie, Mya, Hannah, Lucas, Ari, Calvin, Kayley, Brody, Jimmy, Joey, Avery, Briggs, and Griffin. Also survived by close family friends, Johnny (Lisa) Johnsrud.
Bill will be remembered for his kind nature, gentle heart, and incredible sense of humor. He was, and is, an outstanding father, husband, brother, and son whose love for his family was his true calling. Bill was an avid Wisconsin Badgers, Packers, and Brewers fan and loved all aspects of being a Wisconsinite. Bill will forever live in our hearts and memories as a true gentleman.
His family sends thanks to all of the support and love from Bill’s friends and relatives for their prayers and kind wishes. Special thanks to Heartland hospice care, the fantastic doctors and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, and the entire team in the oncology unit of St. Mary’s.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in Janesville at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Monsignor Donn Heiar will preside. The family will meet friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He is deeply missed by his wife, Stacy (Parrott) ; daughter, Chloe; mother, Joyce; sister, Meeghan (John Fox); and grandmother s, Margaret Loomis and Rita Marklein. He was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob; grandfathers, Roy Loomis and Bob Marklein; and aunt, June Loomis.

A casual memorial gathering in honor of Wade will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009, beginning at 2 p.m. at the VFW Post No. 8483, 5737 County Road CV in Madison. A brief ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. with a potluck to follow.

Tom loved to go camping, fishing, polka music at the Eagles Club and watch the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his children, Mike (Mary Jo Hamilton) Smith of Baxter, MN, Connie Wiesemann of Marshfield, Jenny (Carl) Landowski of Scandinavia, Jim Smith of Marshfield, and Tammy (Kurt) Wallig; six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides is parents, and wife Mary, he was preceded in death by Sgt. William Smith in Vietnam, two daughters Karen and Cheryl Smith, son-in-law Norbert Cahn, three brothers and one sister.

Dessa died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Henry County Health Center, in Mt. Pleasant following a brief illness.
Dessa Darlene Welch was born March 14, 1923, in Kewanee, Illinois, a daughter of Wiley and Lulu (Olson) Hanne. She graduated from Rock Island High School.
She was united in marriage to Francis G. “Frank” Welch on January 12, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1990.
In earlier years she had helped the war effort at the Rock Island Arsenal, she also had worked at the former Brach’s Candy Company, PhotoMat, Kahl Home and in home care helper, and the President River Boat mail room. Dessa was instrumental in establishing the Fairmount School for Handicapped Children and Adults.
Dessa is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Catherine “Cathy” Welch of Olds, Iowa, Marcia (Larry) Wilson of Leesburg, Florida; 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanne Welch in 1970; a granddaughter Courtney Loftus; her brothers Kenny, Neal, Wayne, Dale, and Lenny; and her sister Irene. May they rest in peace.
