Mr. Friel's wife died last October. Funeral services will be held in Grand Junction Monday morning. The remains will be brought to Des Moines, where they will be interred in St. Ambrose cemetery Monday afternoon. The funeral procession will leave the Union station at 3 o'clock.

A large delegation of old time friends of the Friel family journeyed to the Junction last Friday to attend the double funeral of two members of one of the oldest and most highly respected families of the eastern part of the county. Mr. Fergus Friel and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Hugh Friel, were buried at the same hour in the beautiful Catholic cemetery at Grand Junction.

  • On 26 June 1921 Mrs. John Burkhart of 1047 Sixteenth street accompanied by her nephew, Clarence Martelle, left yesterday for Grand Junction, where they were called by the death of the former's brother, Furgus Friel. Mr. Friel died Thursday morning at the age of 63 years.
