Hale, age 71, of Cross Plains, died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Veteran’s Administration Hospice Care facility in Madison. He was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Platteville, to Ernest and Irene (Richard) Hale. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Larry was united in marriage to Judith J. Schroeder, on Dec. 30, 1990, in Madison.

Larry worked at Wingra Redi-Mix, Inc. for 30 years as fleet manager, retiring in 1999. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local No.695.

Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and best friend. He cared deeply for his family and was always there for family gatherings and supporting his grandchildren at their events. He was a teacher of life lessons and an amazing role model for anyone who spent time with him. Larry would do anything for anyone, and he could fix anything, big or small. He enjoyed working in his garage and loved the John Deere brand. You could frequently find Larry at a tractor pull and attending the weekend threshereen. He was also famous for “Grandpa Larry’s Legendary BBQ Chicken”, which he proudly made on his charcoal Weber grill. Larry was the glue that held his family together and he will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Judith; children, Brett (Shanna) Hale of Madison, Shane (Janine) Hale of Beaver Dam, five grandchildren, Ashley, Clara, Cash, Jagger, and Bennett Hale; siblings, Thellis (Jack) Winder of Palm City, Fla., Bonnie Hale of Madison, Judy (Craig) Wyman of Alliance, Neb., John (Jean) Hale of Oconomowoc; stepchildren, Janet (Ron) Schlafer of Sun Prairie and Danny Schroeder of Madison; four step-grandchildren, Carissa, Megan, Josh Schlafer, and Riley Schroeder; first wife and mother of his children, Nancy Hale of Madison; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the MOUNT VERNON ZWINGLI UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, with the Rev. Brad Brookins officiating. Private burial with full military honors will be at South Beaver Dam Cemetery, on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10:50 a.m., on Saturday at Mount Vernon Zwingli United Church of Christ Church. The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb, is serving the family. Memorials in lieu of flowers or plants.

Jerry enjoyed golfing and being with his friends at Paul's Tap. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his mother, Ann; a brother, Ron (Chris) McClain ; a sister, Lori (Dennis) Weig, all of Dubuque, and a sister, Carol (Larry) Foht, of Benton, Wis; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne, on April 23, 2012; his sister, Kathy Miersen, on April 3, 2007; his brother-in-law, Brian Miersen, on March 15, 2007; his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was born on Nov. 17, 1972, in Dubuque, son of Dennis B. and Ann S. (Hess) McClain . He died at approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 1996, as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Welton on U.S. 61.

He attended Iowa State University at Ames and was a 1994 graduate of Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids. He was very active and involved in band, basketball, track and cross country events in school and was a member of the Thespian Club. He loved hunting and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed working on restoring his 1968 GTO. He was an amateur photographer of outdoor and wildlife scenes. Joe touched the hearts of so many people.

Surviving are his parents, Dennis B. and Ann S. (Hess) McClain , of Andrew; two brothers, Dennis B. McClain II, of Clarinda, and Jason L. McClain , of Andrew; his grandmother, Betty McClain , of Dubuque; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was born on July 27, 1962, at the former Xavier Hospital, Dubuque, son of Oliver "Babe" and MaDonna (Haberkorn) Kieler . He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1980.

He married Victoria Hamil on Nov. 5, 1988, in a small ceremony at their home.

He had a great love of hunting, fishing, morel hunting and boating. He also loved the Packers and NASCAR.

He was loved and adored by his wife, three children, family and many, many friends.

Surviving are his best friend and wife, Victoria Kieler, of Kieler ; two daughters, Kailey K. (fiance, Adam Blackburn) Kieler , of Dickeyville, and Lacie Jo Kieler, at home; a son, Tanner J. Kieler, at home; his parents, Oliver "Babe" and Donna Kieler, of Hazel Green; a sister, Vicky (Karl) Ballagh, of Hazel Green; a brother, Brian Kieler, of Hazel Green; his grandmother, Violet Haberkorn, of Dubuque; eight nieces and nephews; and an unborn grandchild. He also is survived by the other love of his life, his dog, Tracker.

Ellen loved bingo, cards, going to the casino and playing solo and dice with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and was very devoted to her faith, especially the rosary.

Surviving are her husband, Floyd, of Tennyson; four daughters, Diane (David) Konshak, of Cuba City, Denise (Ed McKenzie) Kieler , of Potosi, Donna (Tom) Digman, of Hazel Green, and Dena (Jason) Udelhofen, of Potosi; two sons, Richard "Dick" (Dana) Kieler , of Dickeyville, and Rodney Kieler , of Cuba City; two brothers, Delbert Kohn and John Kohn, both of Dubuque; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was born on Sept., 12, 1958, in Dubuque, son of Floyd and Ellen (Kohn) Kieler . He graduated from Potosi High School in 1976, and received a degree from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore.

Roger loved and cared for his daughters and loved to spend time with his family. He also liked to tease his nephews and help his friends. Roger also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Surviving are his two daughters, Kelly Kieler , of Platteville, and Katelyn Kieler , of Dickeyville; his parents, Floyd and Ellen Kieler , of Potosi; six brothers and sisters, Diane Kieler and Richard (Dana) Kieler , both of Dickeyville, Denise Kieler (special friend, Ed McKenzie), of Potosi, Donna (Tom) Digman, of Hazel Green, Dena (Jay) Udelhofen, of Potosi, and Rod Kieler , of Cuba City; five nephews, Jerod Kieler , Scott and Matt Digman, Christopher and Colin Udelhofen; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Dick loved woodworking and did it for family and friends. He enjoyed helping Platte River Displays put on shows in the surrounding area. He loved his friends at Kuepers III and was a Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan.

Death8 September 2015Anthony Floyd Kieler died on 8 September 2015 at age 54 CUBA CITY, Wis. - Anthony "Tony" Floyd Kieler , 54, of rural Kieler , WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer at ManorCare in Platteville, WI.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15th, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler , WI, with Father Bernie Rott officiating. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery in Kieler , WI. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14th, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler , WI, and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler , WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI, is serving the family.

Tony was born to Leander & Olive Ann (Kruser) Kieler on July 6, 1961, in Cuba City, WI. Following high school, Tony served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Tony enjoyed spending time with his children and had a great love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping & setting lines for catfish, raising chickens on his small farm and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was employed by several trucking companies as a truck driver in the surrounding Cuba City area.

Tony is survived by his 4 children: Klay Austin Kieler , Hunter Logan Kieler , Sophia MariOlivia Kieler and Fawn Autumn Kieler , all of Cumberland, WI; his mother, Olive Ann Kieler ; 7 siblings: Susan (Glenn) Vosberg, of Monona, WI, William Kieler , of Cuba City, WI, Paul (Deb) Kieler , of Dickeyville, WI, Fred (Mary Kay) Kieler , of rural Kieler , WI, Leland Kieler , of Kieler , WI, Carol (Ross) Cummins, of Madison, WI and Wayne (Marla) Kieler , of Belleville, WI; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leander "Andy" Kieler .

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tennyson, with the Rev. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends are welcome after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Martin Funeral Home, Potosi, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Elskamp was employed at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for 30 years. He also farmed for many years in rural Potosi.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1914, in Potosi Township, son of Cornelius and Esther (Morehouse) Elskamp.

He married Mary Ellen Leibfried on March 26, 1940; she preceded him in death on March 12, 1978. They were married for 38 years, and together they raised 10 children. He then married Jean Irwin on Nov. 24, 1979; she preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 1992. He later married Dolores Dressler on Jan. 15, 1994; she preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 2005.

Joe enjoyed woodworking and was always tinkering with something on the farm.

Surviving are eight children, Richard (Jane) Elskamp and Arlene (Tom) Breiner, both of Dubuque, Doris (Donnie) Udelhofen, of Potosi, David (Marilyn) Elskamp, of Sacramento, Calif., William (Janie) Elskamp, of Abilene, Texas, Dan (Rhonda) Elskamp, of Davenport, Iowa, Joann (Pat) Koeller, of Lancaster, and Juanita (Loren) Hilkin, of Dubuque; a daughter-in-law, Judy Elskamp, of Potosi; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; several stepchildren; many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Katheryn Harris, of Minocqua; a sister-in-law, Hannah Elskamp; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, John, on Nov. 3, 1986, and Donald, on March 19, 2005; his parents; three brothers, Mahlon, Edward and Bernard; a sister, Dolores Kaiser; and two grandsons, Kyle Udelhofen and Donald Elskamp Jr.
