Jane was born on October 18, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Harry L. and Dolores C. (Hinderman) Schiffman. She married Terry Bode on February 23, 1963, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville. Jane graduated from Cuba City High School and Dubuque Beauty Academy. She owned and operated Jane's Beauty Salon in Dickeyville and Kieler for more than 40 years.

In her younger years she enjoyed weekend trips to the river with family and friends where they did a lot of boating. Jane enjoyed going to plays at the Fireside and Bell Tower and winter vacations in Florida. She loved time spent with family. Jane especially enjoyed spending time with her pride and joy, grandson "Dirk."

Jane was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler. She was a past member of the Dickeyville Mother's Club and a retired member of the Jamestown Fire Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Terry; her children, Lynn (Jerry) Bode Yeazle, of Darlington, and Brett (Karen) Bode, of Shullsburg; a grandson, Dirk Bode; and her brothers and sisters, Paul (Dolores) Schiffman and Mary Lou Feltes, both of Dubuque, Harold "Harry" (Theresa) Schiffman, of Potosi, Vera (Gerald "Jerry") Kruser, of Kieler, and Sharon (John "Jack") Pitzen, of Dickeyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joyce Pearce and Adele Helbing; and a brother, Bert Schiffman.

She was an avid Bears fan and loved to give Packer fans her opinion. Rita enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She was very family oriented.

No matter what happened in our lives, she always stood behind us and made sure we had everything we needed. She raised us all to be good people and be there for our own families. Rita always called it like she saw it, right or wrong, she stood by her feelings.

Survivors include her husband, David M. Spaur, of Galena; two sons, Michael A. (Bri) Helbing, of Janesville, WI, and Thomas J. (Jessy) Helbing, of East Dubuque, IL; a daughter, Sara A. (Josh) Droessler, of Potosi, WI; three grandchildren, Hailey, Kendra and Cooper; her mother, Flora (special friend, Dewey Storla) Wang, of Dickeyville; a sister, Cindy (Tim) Murphy, of Denver, CO; and a brother, Steven (Linda) Wand, of Dickeyville. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Wand; a sister, Laura Wang; and a brother, Dennis Wand.

Danny was born on February 23, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Elsie (McPhail) Helbing. He married Mary Therese Hesseling on September 18, 1971, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Danny was a loving husband and father. In his free time he enjoyed cruising with Mary in his 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible and socializing with the people he loved. Danny was a very unselfish person always putting the needs of others before his own. As a patriot, he was proud of his service and promoted respect for the flag.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Brian, of Dickeyville, Tim (Marina), of Peoria, AZ, and Chad (special friend, Pam Marshall), of Cottage Grove, WI; a brother, Doug Helbing, of Mandan, ND; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Vivian and Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, LaVern Hill; three brothers, Ronnie, Jerry and Orton Helbing; and two sisters, Connie Hill and Marilyn McKillip.

He and his father owned and operated a Case implement dealership in Potosi from the 1930's to the late 1950's. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and belonged to the American Legion Post 473 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5276 of Potosi. On May 22, 1944, Bob married Doris (Ambort) Bode at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Potosi. He and his wife, Doris, currently owned and operated Bode Trucking. Bob was a great outdoorsman - loved hunting, fishing, and Ford trucks. He enjoyed being with his many friends. They could be seen daily harassing each other. Robert found much joy in his family, and especially his grandchildren. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a sister, Marie (Arvin) Schaefer. Surviving are his wife, Doris of Potosi; his children, Ronald Bode of Potosi, Rosie (Bob) Long of Arvada, Colorado, Ted (Diane) Bode of Potosi, Norma (Richard) Kammerud of Lancaster, Jerry (Diane) Bode of Potosi, Mark (Ann) Bode of Potosi and Victoria (Tim) Timmerman, also of Potosi; ten grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Norman Ambort of Potosi. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 1997, at ST. ANDREW'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Tennyson with the Reverend Richard J. Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery with full military honors by members of Berg Averkamp Post 5276 Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 473 of Potosi.
