After graduating as valedictorian of her class in Wessington Springs, S.D., she attended Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D., where she acquired her teaching certificate. During this time Marcia met Ronald W. Jacobs. They were married June 24, 1961 in Mitchell. She later received her teaching degree from Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S.D. Marcia had an impact on the many students she taught throughout her teaching career in Cortland, Neb., and the Piedmont (S.D.) and Stagebarn Elementary schools. Ron and Marcia built a home in Piedmont where they raised their three sons. After retirement they moved to Rapid City, where they enjoyed traveling and their family and friends until Ron's death in October 2003. Marcia then moved to Albuquerque, where she resided until her death. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Survivors include three sons, Brent W. Jacobs, Albuquerque, Dayne (Charle) Jacobs, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Corey T. (Connie Sue) Jacobs, Rapid City; seven grandchildren, Samuel, Brooks, Benjamin, Emmalena, Daniel, Gideon and Eli; one brother, Lanning (Fran) Mollet, Yankton, S.D; and one sister, Charla (Bob) Shimp, Charleston, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald and her parents. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the Grace Reformed Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. David Fagrey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Piedmont Lions Club and the Quilting Group at Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. They later divorces and he settled in Salem until his death.He enjoyed taking cruises, attending horse races at the State Fair, hunting and listening to country music.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Duane Anderson. Survivors include his children, David and Fran Anderson of Lomita, CA, Darrel and Lori Anderson of Eagle, ID, Roger and Peggy Anderson of Twin Falls, ID, Lonny Anderson of Lyons, OR, Donny Anderson of Lyons, OR. Joseph and Ana Anderson of Wilsonville, OR. Lawana and Gary Frank of Sublimity, OR. and Renee and Kevin Axhelm of Stayton, OR. He is also survived by his caring brothers, Gary and Yvonne Anderson of Heppner, OR. and Lanny Jo Anderson of Salem, Or. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Services will by held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Restlawn Funeral Home.
