Lorene married Freeman Swanstrom on September 28, 1951 at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church. They were blessed with a family of five. Coming from a large family herself, she taught her children that family is very important.

Lorene loved a hot cup of coffee that she served along with her homemade sweets to all visitors. She was a member of the Brooklyn Evangelical Free church where she taught Sunday School, played piano and served in many roles.

After retiring from farming, she and Freeman enjoyed traveling and made many new friends along the way. She accompanied Freeman on many trips associated with farming.

Lorene was devoted to her family who will miss her dearly. She passed her faith in God along to her children who celebrate the fact she was at peace with her creator.

Visitation will be held 5-7PM, Friday, Dec. 18th at Wass Funeral Home, Beresford. Memorial services will begin at 1:00PM Saturday, Dec. 19th at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church.
