Laukant, Amnesty Laukant, Josie Laukant, Ethan Laukant, Hunter Laukant, Maddox Laukant, Stormie Laukant, Skylar Laukant, T.J. Sullivan and Jordan Sullivan; sisters and brothers, Doris Langdon of Middleton, George Laukant of Sussex, Marvin (Janet) Laukant of Rock Springs, Betty (Lyle) Berfind of Wonewoc and Shirley (John) Johnson of Jackson, Mississippi; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael R. Laukant, June 15, 2013; and brothers, Howard and Max Laukant.

    Services for Richard J. Laukant will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the Farber Funeral Home, 2000 Viking Drive, Reedsburg, with Pastor Dianne Vielhuber officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farber Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

He was born on November 5, 1947, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of George W. and Evelyn A. (Collies) Palmer. Ted grew up in the rural Rock Springs area. He was a logger and a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed farming and working with his hands. Ted was a talented musician, playing the guitar and singing with his family in the Palmer Band throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and would always be found tending the family’s land. After the work was finished, he enjoyed an occasional four wheeler ride. Above all, Ted was a grandfather who adored his grandchildren. His family was very important to him. Ted also took great pride in caring for his other ‘grandchildren’, Amberly’s dogs and horses.

    Ted was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn; and brother, David Palmer.

    She is survived by her children, Robin (Curt) Lainhart of Burlington, KY, Todd (Tracy) Buelow of Baraboo and Shane Buelow of Baraboo; grandchildren, Sara Lynn, Rachel, Jordan, Samantha and Kyle; sisters, Patti (Gary Weiten) Schaefer of Waunakee and Deb (Mitch) Smalley of Pardeeville; nieces and nephews, Christine, Sean, Cody and Nichole; special son-in-law, Matt Bonar of KY; other relatives and friends.
