He was also past commodore of Port Jefferson Yacht Club, a member of Fairfield Harbor Yacht Club. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ilse Engel Cella and loving sons, Marc and Brian of Boston, MA.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ted Rust officiating. A reception will follow in Weeks Hall.
