Alvin was born July 11, 1933, in Bow Valley, Nebraska to Rudolph and Theresa (Hoebelheinrich) Sudbeck. He grew up in Bow Valley where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the end of the Korean War. After his discharge, Alvin farmed with his brother, Duane in the Bow Valley area and also drove a milk truck. On November 29, 1958, he married Terry Schumacher. She passed away from cancer in July of 1965 and Alvin married Patricia Wells on July 16, 1967. He continued to farm until 1984 when he retired and they moved to Yankton. Alvin loved going to rummage sales and collected many “treasures” over the years. He loved buying old cars and working in his garden. Alvin also loved animals and enjoyed the company of their many dogs and cats. He enjoyed camping and traveling out to the Black Hills.

Alvin is survived by his seven children: Susie (Ted) Hillman of Crofton, NE, Lori (Jay) Henseler of Yankton, Mike (Margie) Sudbeck of Portland, ME, Vince (Nique) Sudbeck of Denton, TX, Amie Goetz of Akron, IA, Kimberly Ummach of Sioux City, IA and Jody (Susan) Sudbeck of Kadoka, SD; 19 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters: Mercedes Goeden of Hartington, NE, Luella (Hop) Rothluebber of Santa Monica, CA; and Joni Schneider of Fairbanks, AK; and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; two grandson, Tyler Ummach and Blair Hillman; and two brothers, Duane and Gene Sudbeck.

Clarence August Peters was born August 9, 1924 in Lesterville, SD the son of William and Josephine (Lodes) Peters. He was baptized in Yankton, SD on December 2, 1924. In 1934 the family moved to Moylan Township, Marshall County, MN and settled on a farm near Ditch 20. He was confirmed on March 30, 1947 in Bethel Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN by Pastor Uhlig. Clarence attended country school in Moylan Township and also attended school in Goodridge, MN. When Clarence was 9 years old, his dad, William died.

Clarence had a passion for farming. At an early age, he worked in the potato fields in North Dakota and continued farming throughout his life. Clarence was united in marriage to Ruth Augusta Zinter on May 18, 1946 in Mavie, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Moylan Township; they had beef and dairy cattle, hogs and poultry, and raised small grains.

Clarence enjoyed goose hunting, fishing, working with horses, square dancing and gardening; and in his later years he especially enjoyed driving around in his golf cart, socializing, and playing cards and games with his friends and family. In his community, Clarence was one who people came to rely on.

Clarence was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge where he served on the church council and building committee; was a charter member of the Goodridge Lions Club; served on the Moylan Township Board; and served on the Goodridge Creamery Board.

Survivors include four children, Edythe "Edy" (Dick) Vavrichek of Rogers, MN, Marvin Peters of Goodridge, MN, Galen (Jodi) Peters of Goodridge, MN and Karen (Arnold) Njaa of Wannaska, MN; grandchildren, Michelle Vavrichek, Daryl (Becky) Vavrichek, Jason (Allison) Kangas, Wendy (special friend, Joe Nowak) Kangas, LaRae Kangas, Nathan, Chrisopher and Chelsey Peters, Zach, Josh and Dusty Njaa; great-grandchildren, Luke, Lauryn, and Caitlyn Shomion, Makenna and Bennett Vavrichek, Cooper and Charlie Kangas; brother, Vernon (Ronnie) Peters of West Linn, OR; sisters-in-law, Evalyn Peters and Martha Peters; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, on September 26, 2006; his parents; brothers, William "Bill" and Ray; sisters, Adeline (Arne) Nelson, Arneida (Milton) Mathieu, Wilma (Russell) South, Sylvia (Dwight) Meyer, and Sybilla Peters.

Marvin graduated from Goodridge High School in 1970. He then served in the United States Army stationed in various locations in the United States and Vietnam (1970-1977).

Marvin worked at the Northern Pride Turkey Processing Plant for 17 years as a crop puller. He also worked on the family farm.

Some of his favorite activities were puzzles, card playing and spending time in the woods cutting wood.

Marvin is survived by his sisters, Edythe Vavrichek and Karen Njaa; his brother, Galen Peters; 11 nieces and nephews and many great- nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Ruth, his grandparents Herman & Ida Zinter; and William and Josephine Peters.

Arneida Gladys Peters was born on July 8, 1914 in Yankton, SD, the daughter of William and Josephine (Lodes) Peters, who farmed in the area. The Peters family moved to the Thief River Falls vicinity in the mid-1930's, where Arneida met Milton Charles Mathieu and they subsequently married on May 7, 1937. They farmed in Pennington County until moving to Thief River Falls in 1945. They relocated to Babbitt, MN for the period 1965-1981, returning to Thief River Falls after Milton's retirement from Reserve Mining Company. She eventually moved to Hopkins, MN, where she has lived since 1999.

Arneida enjoyed her role as parent and homemaker, and was renowned for her skills in quilting, sewing, and baking. She was a long time active member of the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls and its Women's Circle.

She is survived by five sons: Ron, Canon City, CO; Ken (Lori), Pueblo, CO, Don (Penny), Minnetonka, MN; Allen (Susie), St. Louis, MO; and Dave (Stella), Lakeville, MN; daughter in law Lorraine, Thief River Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, three brothers: Vernon Peters, Portland, OR; Clarence, Goodridge, MN; and Ray, St. Paul, MN.

Arneida was preceded in death by her husband Milton, one son Bill, three sisters, and one brother.

William Charles Mathieu was born February 22, 1938 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Milton and Arneida (Peters) Mathieu. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church. He attended Knox Elementary and Lincoln High School. He entered the National Guard on February 6, 1957. He was honorably discharged from the Guard on February 5, 1960.

On July 20, 1958, William was united in marriage to Lorriane Rux. When he was young, he worked part time at the Red Owl store before he became interested in mechanics. He started work at Forkenbrock Motors, Thief River Falls, at a young age. He also worked in Mahnomen, MN for a short time. They moved back to Thief River Falls in December of 1958. He went back to work for Forkenbrock Motors. He also worked for Bud Manning at Thief River Falls Motors and for Bernie Elseth. In 1966, he purchased the station from Bernie, then known as Bill's Mileage. In 1973, he bought the old Wennberg building and opened up Bill's Service until he retired in 2002 for health reasons. He sold the building in 2006.

You can always find Lorraine and him camping at Lake Bronson State Park or Bemis Hill with family. He also enjoyed wood-working, restoring old furniture and doing scratch offs. He enjoyed his grandchildren, especially the babies.

Evalyn Lorraine Davis was born March 23, 1921, one of eleven children, to parents Wilmer and Minnie (Schultz) Davis. Evalyn grew up near and attended school in Grogan. On November 5, 1942, she was united in marriage to William Peters in Thief River Falls, MN. After Williams tour in the Army the couple returned to the Grogan area where they farmed. In the mid 1950’s Evalyn went to work in the laundry department at the St. James Hospital, she worked there for over 20 years before retiring. She was an active member at Rosendale Lutheran Church serving on the ladies aide and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing puzzles, cross-word and word find games.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jenni; his children: Robin South, and Bill and Rhonda South; his grandchildren: Eric and Danielle Zwagerman, Nicole Zwagerman, Danyelle and Kelly Rus, Sara Zwagerman, TJ and Erika South, Tina South and her fiancé TJ Van Dyken, Tarryn and Max Schmidt, and 12 great grandchildren; his siblings: Clare and JoAnna South and Wilma and George Hawkins; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Frances Kortman, Dieter and Bev Kortman, Dena Nyboer, John and Arlene Kortman, Anna and Ray Van Order, Harold and Lila Kortman, and Ted and Donna Weerstra and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Harley South.
He was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland. Bob retired from Herman Miller and loved to volunteer at Compassionate Heart Ministries.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2021 at First Reformed Church, 125 Lincoln Ave, Zeeland from 9:30-10:45 am with the funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
