Mary was a physical education teacher in Illinois at the elementary level. She enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed spending Tuesdays visiting her mom and attending family get togethers.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy; siblings, Therese (Olaf) Wick, Ann (Juan) Lopez, Michelle (Salvador) Leon and Michael Alt; nieces and nephews, Jason, Kristin, Jordan, Joey, Jesse, Marcos, Sebastian; and great-nephew and niece, David and Ella. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, J. Merle Alt on May 14, 2019.

A private family service will be held at Redlin Funeral Home.

Selma was born July 25, 1924 in Sauk County, WI, the daughter of George and Martha (Schrofer) Emery. She married Walter M. Ruda on Sept. 4, 1942, at Christ Lutheran Church, Greenfield Township. They farmed together many years in the township of Merrimac and celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Selma was a Member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Baraboo and an active Homemakers Club member for over 58 years. For many years she served as a 4-H Project Leader for Sewing and Food projects. She enjoyed gardening and was known for growing beautiful flowers. She and her husband sold produce and honey produced on their farm, and Selma enjoyed meeting and talking with their customers. She loved to fish and to bowl and won awards with her teammates at bowling tournaments. She was an avid fan of the Packers, the Badgers football and basketball teams, and High School basketball tournaments. She will be very much missed by her family and friends.

Selma is survived by her children, Patricia Bullard of Reedsburg, Janet (Henry) Schlieckau of Reedsburg, Kenneth (Patricia) Ruda of LaCrosse, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and by several extended family members, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ruda in 1994, her parents George and Martha Emery, sisters Evelyn (Emery) Millard and Louella Emery, and brothers David Emery, Alvin Pete Emery, Lester Emery, Gerald Jake Emery, Russell Butch Emery and Arnold Emery.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 624 East St., Baraboo, WI, with Reverend Tim Kuske officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church on Wednesday.

On Sept. 25, 1948 she married Bill Falk; he preceded her in death on May 26, 1973. After graduating she began working for Bell Phone Company for eight years as a telephone operator. Ruth also worked as a payroll clerk at Badger Ordnance. Most recently and most importantly she worked as a benefit specialist for the Sauk County Commission on Aging until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed volunteering her time as Secretary for the Senior Center and enjoyed the activities there.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Tom) Bush of Verona and Dick (Diana) Falk of Sun Prairie; granddaughters, Katie Bush of Madison and Kelley (Nicholas) Berger of Wauwatosa; she is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Custer and Barbara Tomlinson; brother-in-law, Thomas Falk as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; siblings, Donald Schroeder, Alice Kindschi.

A Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baraboo Senior Center. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He received the Purple Heart in the Vietnam War. On April 15, 1969 he was honorably discharged. On June 16, 1973 he was united in marriage to Janet Ninnemann at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Gary was employed by Neco Hammond and Flambeau Plastics as well as worked in the soil testing field and Dorow Electric until his retirement. In his free time, Gary enjoyed pitching on his softball team and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Eagle's Nest Detachment as well as St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Janet; children, Kevin Dorow, Michelle (Jeremy) Hagen; two grandchildren, Race and Collette; siblings, Dennis (Janice) Dorow, Rebecca (Dustin) Thompson and Cynthia (Jerry) Balis as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Earl Dorow.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.

Survivors include her daughter, Calista (Chad Seaton) Grooms, sister, Christine Janzen, Pam (Gene) Buskirk; brother, Michael Chinn; stepsons, Tommy and Toby Vertein; one grandchild due in November to Calista as well as grandchildren, Cole, Alexis, and Jacquelin Vertein, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robbie.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in North Freedom with Pastor Andrew Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. as well as on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
