  • He left a will on 4 November 1784 at Hempfield Township, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, Jacob Millirons Will - In the name of the Holy Trinity Amen November the 4th in the year of our Lord 1784 I Jacob Milliron of Hempfield Township Westmoreland County and State of Pennsylvania, being very sick and weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory God be thanked; calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die Do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the earth to be Buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors not Doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God and touching such earthly worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I dispose of the same in the same in the following manner and form Firstly I give and bequeath unto Christan (Christina) my dearly beloved Wife all the revenues and benefits of my Plantation whereof she to maintain and Give Schooling to the youngest children and teach them the fear of God, and my Son Nicholas shall have Seventeen Pound per year and stay and work with his mother, but he shall not receive any thing of the aforementioned pay till after the decease of his Mother and then it shall be deducted according to the number of years he so stayed and worked with his Mother out of the pay of the Plantation which shall be rated to him at one hundred Pounds the broun (brown) Mare colt he shall have along with the Plantation. In case my said Son get Married and work the Plantation for himself, then he shall give his Mother the third part of whatever Grows on the place it may be Hay or Grain or any other thing whatsoever. And then his yearly wages of Seventeen Pounds is at an End or discontinued Furthermore shall my Wife have two cows, her choice out of the whole stock. And my Son shall give her the food towards keeping them and also shall he give her Give Pounds in money for her Necessaries. I Bequeath also to my son Philip 150 Acres of Land which shall be rated to him at 40 pounds per 100 acres, my son John shall have in Lieu of the church land as much as remains from the old tract, which shall be rated to him at 40 pounds per 100 Acres N B my son Philip shall have the old Waggon along with his place: Andreas Barns has got 12 pounds already which shall be deducted out of his share. Furthermore shall my Daughter Eve have a cow and a calf or Five Pounds in Money out of my Estate, as likewise my Daughter Ana Elizabeth shall have a cow and a calf or Five pounds in money which she has received already. And likewise my Daughter Catharina shall have a cow and a calf or Five Pounds in Money to receive out of my estate. My Son Jacob shall have Five Pounds in Money out of my Estate. My Son Anthony shall have Ten Pounds in Money out of my Estate. My youngest daughter Susannah shall have Fifteen Pounds out of my estate this is observed that not every child can draw his share (if the father should happen to die this time) but it shall be in the Mother's Pleasure to Give them anything or not, during her life time but after the Mother is death every child receives his share according to the testament of his father. Lastly I wish to my beloved wife the Grace of God Earthly blessing and everlasting happiness, and renouns and disannul all former Wills and ordain Tobias Long and Peter Loutsenhiser my Executors and Guardians of this my last Will and Testament Done the day and year above mentioned Signed Sealed Pronounced and declared - Jacob Milliron in the presence of us Andrew Alms, John Dorn, Nicholas Swope - Provide the 4th November 1799.
