Funeral services will be at 9:30am Saturday at St. Mary Catholic church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis Schultes will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. The body will be taken today from the Manning-O'Toole funeral home to the Fisch funeral home at Remsen where the rosary will be recited at 8pm Friday.

    Tradition has grown to the effect that the annexation of Texas was carried in the United States by one vote -- that of Edward A. Hannegan, then United States Senator from Indiana, he was elected to the Senate by one vote, and that one vote was given Hannegan by Daniel Kelso, then Senator from Switzerland County, who was elected by a one vote majority.
