He moved with his family to Runnels County in 1906 settling in the Drasco Community. He married Eura Traylor April 19, 1917, in Bluff Creek. In 1923 the family moved to Bradshaw where he farmed for a number of years. For 19 years he was an employee of Taylor County, Precinct No. 4. He was a veteran of World War I having served in the 36th division, heavy cavalry. Survivors are his wife of the home; two sons, Homer Oran of 2042 Grape in Abilene and Richard of Kerrville; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Hancock of Winters; two brothers, Dick of Englewood, Calif., and Ray of Clyde; two sisters, Mrs. G. R. Baker of Clyde and Mrs. Olive Brooks of Dallas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Casket bearers will be Odis Claxton, J. D. Harrison, Wesley Best, Malcolm Holliday, Wesley Dean, Clarence Ledbetter; Wayne Hunt, Wally Vollie Erwin.

Many tokens of love were displayed in the way of useful presents. The bride is the only daughter of Mr and Mrs. Thos. SPYKER, residing four miles southeast of this city, and is a young lady of sterling worth, and has many friends in this city. The groom resides on a farm seven miles south of Salem, and is a school teacher and has excellent qualifications, worthy of the bride he has won. Their many friends wish for them many long and happy years.
