Together they resided in Quasqueton until returning to Manchester in 2004. Paul died April 7, 2005. Shirley had worked over the years at C & S TV, Manchester Bowling Alley, Al & Norma?s Caf? and twenty-seven years at the Good Neighbor Home. Shirley died suddenly Friday morning, July 22, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was seventy-seven years of age. Shirley will be remembered as one who enjoyed antiques, bowling, and cooking. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald (Jane) Olson of Manchester, and Dennis (Ramona) Olson of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Debra Massingham of Wichita, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Logan; her parents; three brothers, Alvin, Harold, and Jerry Baumbach; and twin grandsons in infancy.

Baumbach, 77, of La Crosse and Coulee Spring, near Genoa, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, in Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born in Sparta on April 19, 1921, to Julius and Lizzy Baumbach. He married LaVonne (Bonnie) G. Deal and they later divorced. He enjoyed working as a carpenter and on his farm until the time of his death. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He was a life member and past commander of VFW Post 10532 of Coon Creek and a life member of American Legion Post 52 in La Crosse. He was to be recognized this month as a 50-year member of the AFL-CIO Carpenters' Local 140 in La Crosse. Harold was active in the Genoa area and enjoyed participating in the village meetings.
He is survived by three daughters, Lorna Lynn (Thomas) Schini of Onalaska, Beth Ann (Joel) King of Appleton, and Bonita Jean (Richard) Enberg of La Crosse; grandchildren, Paul H. (Lynn) Manske, Kelly R. Seloover, Rebecca L. Schmeckpeper, Robert M. Schmeckpeper, Benjamin M. Schmeckpeper, Laurabelle J. Enberg and Travis R. Enberg; one sister, Shirley Logan and one brother, Jerry Baumbach, both of Iowa; and a loving and caring lifetime friend, Elaine Jeffers. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard T. Pamperin will officiate and burial with military rites by the American Legion Post 52 will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Sparta. Family and friends may call at the Woodruff Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Road this evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
