After graduating from school he worked for his aunt and uncle at Camp Joy, the first motel in South Dakota. He managed the service station at the motel, and later worked in Rapid City before retiring in 1978. He volunteered and served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW and DAV of Rapid City. Survivors include his wife, Louise Nedved, Rapid City; one son, Joseph Nedved, Spearfish; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
