Father*Roger Albert Bramy b. 14 Feb 1907, d. 12 May 1984
Mother*Evelyn Snyder b. 18 May 1918, d. 16 Jul 1984
Name TypeDateDescription
Name VariationDavid Baker Bramy was also known as David Baker.
Life EventDateDescription
Birth28 November 1938David Baker Bramy was born on 28 November 1938 at San Francisco, California.1
He was the son of Roger Albert Bramy and Evelyn Snyder.
Death21 June 2007David Baker Bramy died on 21 June 2007 at age 68 David Baker Beloved husband of Norma Baker; father of Mark Alan, Sean James and Ryan Roger Baker; father-in-law of Diana Beth Baker and Elizabeth Valentine Baker; and grandfather of Cameron David, Brynn Katherine, Tatum Valentine, and Chase Nathaniel Baker, passed away at home on Thursday, June 21, 2007 after a 10-year battle with lung cancer. David was born on November 28, 1938 in San Francisco to Roger Bramy and Evelyn Snyder and is survived by his two sisters Barbara Ehrlich and Diana Jo Woodall. He was raised in San Francisco where he spent his early years living with his immigrant grandparents in the multi-ethnic Mission district. As a child, David dabbled in acting as an extra in various big screen productions and with multiple appearances in a San Francisco based television series. David graduated from Lowell High School class of 1956 and went on to attend college at USF. In 1963, David went to work for his step-father, Alan Baker, who later legally adopted him at which time David changed his last name from Bramy to Baker. In 1967, David married Norma Walsh, a Pan-Am flight attendant from Manchester, England, and together had three sons who they raised in Menlo Park and Atherton. David went on to be an early pioneer of the printed circuit board manufacturing industry, providing venture capital in the form of equipment sales and financing to the majority of Silicon Valley PCB fab startups between 1970 and 1990. David had a passion for helping his customers "solve problems" and worked right up to the end of his life doing just that. In Alan Baker Company, David leaves behind a legacy and a thriving business that has provided for three generations of Bakers. David's deep, booming voice, gruff exterior, and say-exactly-what-you-think personality, masked the soul of an incredibly generous, warm-hearted man who preferred the company of his family and the comfort of his home over social networking and exotic travel. David's true love was his family, who all will miss him terribly. Out of respect for David's wishes, no memorial service will be held and funeral services will be private. His family will host a celebration of his life on his birthday later in the year. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David be made to: Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School For The Deaf, 3518 Jefferson Ave., Redwood City, CA 94062, (650) 365-7557.
