He made his home in Mitchell following his honorable discharge.

    On Aug. 5, 1946, he married Eunice Sievers at Mitchell. He was employed at Hormel's in the lard rendering department. He retired from there in 1979 after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, the Meat Cutters Union and the Elks Lodge.
    He is survived by two children; Diana Navin and husband, Dan, Sioux Falls; and Ken Giblin and wife, Mary Jane, Mitchell; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Catherine Smith, Mitchell.

    He was preceded in death by his wife in 2002, his parents, a brother and two sisters.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

    Funeral services will be held at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parkston. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mitchell, with military rites. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. The family will be present from 6:30-8 p.m.

    He was born on April 30, 1925, at Wagner to William and Goldie (Sadler) Giblin. On July 11, 1952, he married Dorothy Sizemore at Wall Lake, Mich. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Parkston, and a member of the Moose Lodge. He owned Giblin Painting for 45 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parkston.

    He is survived by his wife; three sons; Dennis and wife, Diane, Aberdeen; Michael and Kevin, both of Parkston; four grandchildren; one brother, Cletus "Jack" Giblin; and one sister, Catherine Smith, both of Mitchell.

    He was prededed in death by his parents, one daughter; two sisters; and a grandson.
