Birth14 March 1913Regina Ann Weitzel was born on 14 March 1913 at Wisconsin.
She was the daughter of Edward Martin Weitzel and Anna Freda Walters.
Marriage14 April 1931Regina Ann Weitzel married Arthur S. Nachreiner, son of Simon B. Nachreiner and Gustina Gruber, on 14 April 1931.
Death12 May 2010Regina Ann Weitzel died on 12 May 2010 at age 97 Regina Ann Nachreiner, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, after a brief illness, at St Mary's Hospital in Madison.

She was born on March 14, 1913, in Bear Valley, the daughter of Edward and Anna Weitzel (Wolters). Regina was married on April 14, 1931, to Arthur Nachreiner and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She and Art were married 70 years, and did many things. They were farmers most of their lives, but also were cheese makers, and Regina worked in the shirt factory in Reedsburg in the post World War II period, while Art recovered from back surgery. They also have wonderful memories of the years when they lived in the Village of Plain, and Art worked in the locker. In 1971 Art and Regina along with their son Dan embarked on a retirement dream of having a bar. They renovated the barn that they milked cows in for more than 20 years into a bar and restaurant - "The Ridge Club" which they operated for 30 years. Many good memories of parties, weddings and friends were made during those years.

The last six years of her life were spent at Greenway Manor Nursing Home in Spring Green after a spinal cord injury due to osteoporosis. She drove and lived at home until she was 91 and entered the nursing home. Here Regina continued to be very alert and full of life. She enjoyed reading her daily newspaper and many magazines, spending time with friends and relatives, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed having cookies and coffee in her room.

Regina had a deep faith, and prayed her rosary daily and attended Mass on Wednesdays with Father Mike. She had a very keen wit and sense of humor - enjoyed by the people who surrounded her. Her warmth and kindness touched many people. She will be missed by relatives, friends, family and Greenway staff and residents - and all who knew her.

Survivors include six children, Arlene (John) Anderson of Waunakee, Ed (Lois) Nachreiner of Eugene, Mo., Joey (Ron) Snyder of Reedsburg, Jeff (Kathryn) Nachreiner of Plain, Tom Nachreiner (Jenny) of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Lt. Col. Mary Nachreiner of Pope Air Force Base/Southern Pines, N.C; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Hess of Tomah, and Mary Beck of Middleton.

Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Nachreiner; sons, Ted and Dan Nachreiner; and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME, Spring Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 1 p.m. preceded by a visitation from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, LORETO. Father Mike Resop and Father Larry Bowens will concelebrate Mass and burial in the church cemetery.

Death27 February 2006Helen Catherine Devine died on 27 February 2006 at age 94 Helen Catherine Martin, age 94, of Lone Rock, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Pine Valley Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Sept. 16, 1911, in Richland County, the daughter of Hugh and Maggie (Mahoney) Devine. Helen lived her entire life in Richland County, moving into town at age 13 to board and attend Richland Center High School. Upon graduation, she attended Richland County Normal and LaCrosse Teachers College, and then taught in rural Richland County schools for many years. A proud supporter of public education for her family and community, Helen was elected in July 1960 to River Valley School Districts first school board, where she served until her retirement in May 1982. She held the offices of secretary and president of the board during its formative years. Helen married James Martin in 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richland Center where she was still a member. Together they farmed Martin Farms, established in 1855, in Gotham. She lived on the farm until the last several years and was a member of the Gotham Birthday Club, a leader of the Gotham Go-Getters 4-H Club and a 40-year member of the Holstein Association. In 2002, the Martin Farms co-hosted Wisconsin Farm Progress Days. Helen enjoyed the festivities from the front porch of her home, greeting visitors including the Governor and scores of other friends and family. Survivors include four daughters, Ann (Albert) Greenheck of Lone Rock, Bonnie (James) Bolin of Rockford, Ill., Sally (Umberto) DiFiore of South Pasadena, Calif., and Nancy Chellevold of Summit, N.J; nine grandchildren, Randy and Mark Bolin, Jamie, Greg and Jennifer Greenheck, Courtney (Chellevold) Mellinkoff, Jared Chellevold, Julia (DiFiore) Rue and Adriano DiFiore; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Klinzing of Richland Center; two sisters-in-law, Eva Roberts of Wauwatosa, and Marcella Devine of Richland Center; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Martin in 1983; a son-in-law, Steven Chellevold in 2005; two sisters, Irene Sullivan and Mary Hillary; and two brothers, Tom and Eugene Devine. Helen was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and was a loyal Brewers, Badgers and -most of all - Packers fan. Throughout her life, she insisted on keeping track of the Packers and even last week she expressed her desire and confidence that Brett Favre would return to lead the Pack this year. If anything surpassed her love of the Packers, it was her decades-long devotion to the Democratic Party and politics. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Richland Center. Fr. Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate with burial in the Button Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006, at the STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to express gratitude for the compassionate care shown by the Pine Valley Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center Staff where memorials may be made. The Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
