Mr. Alt was a veteran of World War I and farmed in the town of Franklin most of his life. He was a member of the Spring Green American Legion. He was also a member of St. John Catholic Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Nickolson, Mrs. Bernadine Retzlaff, and Mrs. Anna Mae Dickerson, all of Harvard, Ill., and Viola Mickley of Mineral Point; two sons, Floyd of Harvard, Ill., and Eugene of Elizabethtown, Ky; a brother Herman of Spring Green, with whom he lived since 1941; a sister, Mrs. Emma Pretsch of Spring Green; 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church with Father Fellenz officiating. Full military graveside services were held at Plain, and burial was in St. Luke Cemetery in the family plot of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Alt.

She was also preceded in death by a son Reinhold in 1989.

Due to the fire at St. John's Catholic Church, funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday October 29. Burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, the guests being immediate relatives of the bride and groom. After the reception the young couple departed on a trip to Milwaukee and Holy Hill. On their return they will be at home on the farm of the groom near Spring Green.
