She enjoyed making jelly and jam, needlework ,and making Barbie furniture for her grandchildren. She also was an avid gardener and baker. Survivors include her husband; her children, Carla (Dan) Salemi of Draper, Utah, Cathleen (Tony) DeMartinis of Woodstock, Carolyn (Dominic) Tedesco of Ventura, Calif., Beth (George) Powers of Cary, Michael (Karen) Kuhl of Hoffman Estates, Mark (Nina) Kuhl of Denver, Robert (Christine) Kuhl of San Diego, Calif., and Daniel Kuhl of Pomona, N.Y; her grandchildren, Laura, Joseph, Anthony, Nicholas, Quentin, Carina, Sarah, Hannah, Isabel, Lillian, Brian, John, Jenna and Taylor; a brother, Virgil (Rita) Lange of Fordyce; two, sisters Severa Pflanz of Worden, Mont. and Arlyce (Jim) Willson of Chandler, Ariz; two sisters-in-law Rosemary Lange of Crofton, S.D., and Mary Lange of Aberdeen, S.D; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Elred, Omer and Cleo Lange. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard. The Rev. Jose Lopez will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for the purchase of a St. Peregrine statue (patron saint of cancer patients) for St. Joseph's Church.

Two of the most prominent families in the northern part of the county were united in a double wedding ceremony when Miss Teresa and Miss Ludvina Kleinschmitt, daughters of Mrs. Gertrude Kleinschmitt of Bow Valley became the brides of Edward and August Lange, sons of Mrs. Christine Lange, also of Bow Valley on Monday at 9:30 at the Catholic Church in Bow Valley. Father A. Birnbach officiated. The brides wore white crepe dresses and wreaths and veils and carried bouquets of white roses. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lange were attended by Miss Alma Kleinschmitt, sister of the brides, and Henry Lattman, nephew of the grooms, victoria Lange, niece of the grooms, and Alphonse Kleinschmitt, brother of the brides were witnesses for Mr. and Mrs. August Lange. Both bridesmaids wore lavender crepe dresses with hats to match and carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. After the ceremony a three course wedding breakfast was served at the brides' home for the families and in the afternoon a reception for over 200 guests was held at the Kleinschmitt home. In the evening a house dance was given for relatives and friends. Both couples are widely known and are among the most popular young people in their part of the country, having been born and reared in the communities where they now live. For the present they will make their home on the Lange farm northeast of Fordyce, until buildings and other improvements can be erected on the farm which Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lange will occupy. Congratulations and best wishes from their friends over the county are extended to these young people who are starting their wedded life.

Mrs. Jerry (Colette) Koch and Dianne of Fordyce; three sons, Linus, Marvin and Edward, Jr., all of Fordyce; six
brothers, Henry of Fox Lake, Wis; Joseph and August of Fordyce; Bill and John of Crofton and Louis of Yankton
and 21 grandchildren. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Edward J. Lange, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lange, was born January 13, 1901. He was born and lived all his
life on the farm his father homesteaded west of Bow Valley.
Mr. Lange was treasurer of the school board for 20 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and
Holy Name Society.
Mr. Lange married Theresa Kleinschmit February 15, 1926 at Bow Valley.
Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Wintz Mortuary. Pallbearers were six nephews,
Laverne, Robert, Elred, Marlen and Art Lange and Ray Keiser. Honorary Pallbearers were Leonard Bauman,
Cyril Becker, Barney Geise, Vic Sudbeck, Henry Feilmeier and Art Schulte.

Sylvia Christene was born to Edward and Theresa (Kleinschmit) Lange on October 17, 1928 in Fordyce, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bow Valley, NE. Sylvia married Leon Loecker on August 30, 1949 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bow Valley.

She worked for the School Lunch Program, the Yankton Inn and the Yankton Care Center. Sylvia served as an EME for many years and led the rosary with husband, Leon. She enjoyed activities with her grandchildren and she liked to sew. Her favorite pastime was playing cards. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Sylvia's memory will be cherished by her husband, Leon of Fordyce; sons: Arlen (Wilma) of Manhatten, KS, Mark (Deb) of Fordyce, Francis (Jackie) of McPherson, KS and Steve (Special friend Kathy) of Grain Valley, MO; daughters: Joyce (Ron) Sestak of Tabor, SD, Carol Loecker of Irene, SD, Lois (Dave) Kosch of Bellevue, NE, Lynne (Doug) Gurney of Yankton, Geralda (Gerald) Pedersen of Worthington, MN, Mary (Scott) Silvernail of Yankton and Julie (Wayne) Kirkpatrick of York, NE; 32 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Theresa was born on October 10, 1932 at Fordyce, NE to Edward J. and Theresa M. (Kleinschmit) Lange. She married James V. Stappert on August 16, 1954 at Bow Valley. He died on Dec. 13, 1989 at the age of 65.
She grew up in the Fordyce area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1950. She taught District #99 Country School from 1950-1951, Tip Top District #78 from 1951-1953, District #108 from 1953-1954, and attended Wayne State Teachers College in 1952. In Yankton she had worked at the Women's Correctional Center, was a seasonal worker at Gurney's, and worked at Wal-Mart for the past 16 years. Wal-Mart donated $250.00 in her name to East Catholic School in Bow Valley for the 25 hours of reading she volunteered at the school. She loved to talk to the kids either at East Catholic or at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and sewing. She was a member of the Holy Family (Sts. Peter and Paul) Catholic Church and choir, and the Christian Mothers. Before her marriage she was a member of the Young Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by 5 daughters and their husbands; Susan and Gordon Mohr of Carroll, NE, Shirley and Lee Echtenkamp of Cairo, NE, Mary and Bob Reeter of Volga, SD, Elizabeth and Marlin Roth of Blair, NE, Sheila and Jim Dahlman of Thurston, NE a brother and his wife, Keith and Pam Stappert of Bow Valley, 22 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Sylvia and Leander Loecker of Menominee, Colette and Jerry Koch of Fordyce, Jeannie and Loren Schieffer of Fordyce, 3 brothers; Linus and June Lange of Fordyce, Edward and Bernadette Lange of Bow Valley, Marvin and Evelyn Lange of Fordyce.

Marvin Virgil Lange was born on May 1, 1942 to Theresa (Kleinschmit) and Edward Lange Sr. on the family farm in Fordyce, NE. He grew up on the farm and went to grade school at District 108 country school. Marvin attended high school for two years in Fordyce and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1960. He was drafted into the United States Army Infantry Division during the Vietnam War and served in Vietnam from July 1965 to March 1966. He worked for Gerry Miller Implement for two years and then began farming full time. On April 15, 1972, Marvin married Evelyn F. Zitka at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor, SD. They continued farming until Marvin’s health prevented him from continuing. He grew grain, raised livestock, and had dairy cattle. He loved to farm, dance, play cards, listen to polka music, and spend time with family and friends.

Marvin was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and served on the parish council, Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus, Bow Valley Park Association, Hartington VFW Post 5283, Crofton American Legion Post 128, Center for Rural Affairs, NFO, and various other organizations.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Fordyce, NE; five children, Michael (Lisa) Lange of Mission Hill, SD, Terry Lange of Fordyce, NE, Doug Lange of Norfolk, NE, Karen Lange of Omaha, NE, and Lisa Olnes of Yankton, SD; six grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Lange, Isaac, Luke, Timothy, and Maria Olnes; two sisters, Colette (Jerry) Koch of Fordyce, NE, Jeannie Schieffer of Crofton, NE; two brothers, Linus (June) Lange of Bow Valley, NE, Edward Jr. (Bernadette) Lange of Hartington, NE, as well as many nieces and nephews.
