While operating a machine for mixing food for chickens he received a wound in the arm, which resulted in blood poisoning and tetanus causing his death in a few days. He leaves a wife, two sons, Roy and Gerald, on daughter, Kathleen, two sisters, Mrs. Minerva Morgan and Mrs. Gertrude Dangberg and one brother, Frank Hironymous to mourn his death.
