He died of influenza at Camp Joseph E Johnston in Florida (during the Influenza epidemic of 1918). FUNERAL OF A YOUNG SOLDIER - Albert LeBounty, American Soldier, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander LaBounty of Lower Wyoming Valley, who entrained from Dodgeville for Camp Grant, Rockford, Ill., May 25, 1918, and was later transferred to Camp Johnson, Jacksonville, Fla., died in the latter camp October 12, 1918, of Spanish influenza. The remains arrived in Spring Green on Wednesday evening, October 16th, under guard and escort of acting 1st Sergeant Charles E. Shevenell of Haverhill, Mass., and were taken to the home of his parents from which place and the Wyoming cemetery open air funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. H. Schoenfeld of this city, on Thursday morning, October 17th, being assisted in the services by the Wyoming choir, who at the close of the minister's address led the gathered assembly in singing "America". Doubtless that song and the sentiment and spirit therein contained pressed home to the people of that community with new and larger meaning on that occasion than it has ever done before; sung as it was in the presence of the coffin of an American soldier, draped with Old Glory.
Albert LeBougnty was born in Iowa county, Wisconsin, in the year 1894 and his untimely departure will be greatly morned by his parents, MR. and Mrs. Alexander LeBounty, one brother Henry, and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Davenport, Clyde; Mrs. Oscar Mercer, Lone Rock; Mrs. Silbo Moore, Wauzeka; and Maud at home.
