The Matriarch Marie J. Eagan of the Eagan Family passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Berlin Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Eagan was born January 11, 1910 the daughter of the late George and Mary (Ruhland) Ring in Plain, Wisconsin. Marie was the last survivor from her family of 13 brothers and sisters.
Marie was a graduate of the Minneapolis School of Cosmetology and worked in several beauty shops in Madison before her marriage on March 5, 1932 to the late John K. Eagan. When John and Marie moved to Wautoma, she worked for Ida?s Beauty Salon and also loved sports and played on the women?s softball team for Ida?s Beauties. She always reminded her sons and grandchildren that she also played ball. Marie enjoyed watching her family play sports and other functions. She attended their games even when her sight began to fail her, but she would still go and listen to what was going on. Marie was an avid golfer and was a member of the original women?s golf league at the Waushara Country Club. Marie and her late husband John enjoyed square dancing and teaching. She was also a member of Wautoma Women?s Bridge Club and loved the game of Bridge.
Marie was the ultimate mother from the time she had her first child to the last great-grandchild she was always caring for her family. In all of those years she was always there for her family which was her number one goal in her life. Marie was also a very religious person; she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish for 59 years. She was a member of the Little Flower Society which was started by the late Rev. George Weix. She lived her life by her religion and faith.
Survivors include her three sons, Gary J. Eagan, Wautoma, Michael A. (Norma) Eagan, Wautoma and Dean J. (Jan) Eagan, Wautoma: four grandchildren, David K. (Susan) Eagan, Appleton, John J. (Tanya) Eagan, Wautoma, Carolyn S. (Rob) Albright, Minneapolis, MN, Scott M. (Tonya) Eagan, Wautoma: three special step grandchildren, Aaron J. Goland, Chicago, IL, Christopher J. (Anita) Goland, Appleton, and Chad R. Goland, Oshkosh. Also survived by eight great grandchildren, Chase, John, Clark, Sam, Jack, Will, Harleigh, and Olivia Eagan and step great grandchildren, Alec, Carly, Graham, and Izabella Goland. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John K. Eagan, a son Daniel C. Eagan, who died in infancy, her parents George and Mary Ring and 12 brothers and sisters, along with her father and mother-in-law Harley and Blanch Eagan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 24, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma. The Rev. Philip Dinh- Van-Thiep will officiate the services which will be held at 10:30 a.m. with visitation at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A parish prayer service will begin at 9 a.m. Marie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma. A reception will follow in the Church hall. A memorial had been established in the name of the Little Flower Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving; two sons, John and Buzzy; one daughter, Donna Volenberg; and two grandsons, Bobby Walterscheit and Mark Kuban. Funeral services will be held at the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 1987. Fr. Robert Gille will officiate. The bullet entered Ring's head below the right eye.

Ring, with his father, George, two brothers, and a friend, Jean Bougard, Madison, was hunting on the farm of a relative between Lodi and Sauk City. Ring sat down on a log, lighted a cigaret [sic], and reached for his gun, when it discharged, Bougard said.

Coroner William E. Brauer, Portage, was notified of the accident, the first hunting fatality of the season in this county. Brauer pronounced the death accidental. The body was taken to Madison.

Ring is survived his his parents, four brothers, and five sisters.

Mr. Ring's survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Ring; five brothers, Vincent, Leo, Herman, and George Jr., Madison; and William, Plain; and four sisters, Mrs. Vincent Phalin, Mrs. Eugene Bongard, Miss Helen, and Mrs. Irving Walterscheid, Madison, and Mrs. John Egan, Wautoma.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Plain American Legion Post 398, where he was Commander for two years. John is survived by his mother, Maxine; brothers, Pat and Tim (Shirley) McCluskey, both of Plain; sisters, Helen (Tom) Massa of New Jersey and Maureen McCluskey (Jerry Springer) of Lodi; a niece, Jackie McCluskey (Troy Wallace); a nephew, Thomas McCluskey; a great niece, Kylee Wallace; and a very, very special friend and the love of his life, Shirley Nachreiner. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom; and two brothers, Thomas and Eugene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, in Loreto Ridge, on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. Father Larry Bowens will officiate with burial in the Our Lady of the Field's Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Plain American Legion Post No. 398. Friends may call from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at the RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME, in Spring Green and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Death23 July 2020Patrick M. McCluskey died on 23 July 2020 at age 66 Patrick M. “Klink” McCluskey, age 66, of Plain, died peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 following a brave battle with cancer. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Richland Center, the son of Thomas and Maxine (Scallon) McCluskey. He was a graduate of River Valley High School and he received his Associate’s degree from MATC. Pat worked at Pace Industries for over twenty years. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Survivors include his three siblings: Helen McCluskey, of Mays Landing, New Jersey; Tim (Shirley) McCluskey, of Plain and Maureen (Jerry) Springer, of Portage; one niece; two nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Eugene, John and little Tommy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto with Father Santus Ibe officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of The Fields Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. In order to maintain physical distancing, only 50 people at a time will be allowed in the church. Face masks will be highly recommended. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Carbone Cancer Center in Madison would be appreciated.

She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Plain, Wis., the daughter of Alphonse and Mary (Frank) Kraemer. Liz was the fifth youngest of 15 children. After graduating from St. Luke's Catholic High School, Liz moved to Madison. On Feb. 9, 1957, she married Brian Scallon. Liz worked at Oscar Mayer in cost accounting for seven years before she and Brian started their family. She enjoyed raising her daughters, swimming, exercise, her flower garden, bunco, bingo, Mexican train dominoes, and her grandchildren.


Liz is survived by her daughters, Karen (Terry) Brennan, Marybeth (Jim Renda) Little, and Jill (Todd) Stockard; grandchildren, Cody Brennan, Megan Brennan, Kino Little, Cole Little, Claire Stockard, and Will Stockard; brothers, Norm (Louise) Kraemer and Bob (Betty) Kraemer; sisters, Marie Zajicek, Helen Taylor, Ann (Tom) Gerothanas, and Karol (Charlie) Wichmann.





Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Brian on July 21, 2014; her parents; brothers, Alfred (Helen Marie) Kraemer and Linus (Florence) Kraemer; sisters, Lorraine (Monroe) Haas, Florence (Bill) Schluter, and Irene (Bob) Esch; infant sisters, Bernice, Delores, and Grace Kraemer; brothers-in-law, Jim Zajicek and Dean Taylor; niece, Joni Schluter; and nephews, Mike Gerothanas and Dean Haas.


A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St. at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. Burial will be take place Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017, and at church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Philip was a mechanic, having worked for Raemisch Implement and Markgraf Motors, but he owned and operated Statz Garage for most of his life. On May 16, 1956, he was united in marriage to Irene Glimme and they shared 47 wonderful years together. Philip was a very devoted husband and took care of Irene during her extended illness until her death on Sept. 16, 2003. His family was his life and he enjoyed his grandchildren and living on the farm. Philip is survived by five children, June (Frank) Neumaier, Kenneth Dale (Colleen) Statz, Susan Statz, David (Amy) Statz and Christopher (Shannan) Statz; six grandchildren, Kasper, Karl and Henry Statz, Marcus and Emma Neumaier and Hope Statz; his sisters and brothers, Elaine (Leonard) Ziegler, Victor (Shirley) Statz, Betty Endres, Robert (Henrietta) Statz, Judine (Bill) Wood, John (Bambi) Statz, Ronald (Cheryl) Statz, Kenneth (Joyce) Statz and Marilyn (John) Hurtgen; many nieces, nephews and the extended Glimme family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; daughter, Barbara Jean; grandson, Jacob Curtis Statz; three brothers, Hilary (Celine) Statz, Sylvester Statz and David (Darlene) Statz; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Endres. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lodi, with Monsignor Daniel T. Ganshert officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, where the Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the Mass on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Lodi Good Samaritan Center. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center for their wonderful care and Monsignor Ganshert for his many visits and prayers.
