On May 16, 1956, he was united in marriage to Irene Glimme and they shared 47 wonderful years together. Philip was a very devoted husband and took care of Irene during her extended illness until her death on Sept. 16, 2003. His family was his life and he enjoyed his grandchildren and living on the farm. Philip is survived by five children, June (Frank) Neumaier, Kenneth Dale (Colleen) Statz, Susan Statz, David (Amy) Statz and Christopher (Shannan) Statz; six grandchildren, Kasper, Karl and Henry Statz, Marcus and Emma Neumaier and Hope Statz; his sisters and brothers, Elaine (Leonard) Ziegler, Victor (Shirley) Statz, Betty Endres, Robert (Henrietta) Statz, Judine (Bill) Wood, John (Bambi) Statz, Ronald (Cheryl) Statz, Kenneth (Joyce) Statz and Marilyn (John) Hurtgen; many nieces, nephews and the extended Glimme family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; daughter, Barbara Jean; grandson, Jacob Curtis Statz; three brothers, Hilary (Celine) Statz, Sylvester Statz and David (Darlene) Statz; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Endres. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lodi, with Monsignor Daniel T. Ganshert officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, where the Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the Mass on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Lodi Good Samaritan Center. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center for their wonderful care and Monsignor Ganshert for his many visits and prayers.

He was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church, the Knights ofColumbus and the Catholic Knights.
