Mrs. Leach was born in Guilford County on June 15, 1907, to Zollie C. and Anna Green Newman.

Mrs. Leach is survived by two daughters, Jackie L. Wheeler and June L. Johnson, both of Greensboro; two sons, Jerry D. Leach, of Old Town, Fla., and Sam B. Leach of Holly Ridge; daughter-in-law Shirley Leach of Hamptead; two sisters, Ida N. Strickland and Iris N. Shepherd, both of Greensboro; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Leach Sr., a son, Floyd "Bunk" Leach Jr., grandsons, Fred Leach and Joe Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staffs at St. Gale's Manor, Moses Cone Cancer Center and to Dr. Peter Levitin, for their dedication and care of Mrs. Leach.

Memorials may be made to Rankin Baptist Church, 3317 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405, or to the donor's choice.
