Death10 March 1906Anna Brechtl died on 10 March 1906 at age 28 Mrs. Joseph Cramer. Anna Brechtl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zaphier [Xavier] Brechtl, was born October 4, 1877. She received the holy sacrament of baptism in the St. Luke's Catholic church. The sacrament of Confirmation was administered her by Rt. Rev. Bishop Flasch of LaCrosse, in the year 1890, and in the following year, 1891, she was one among the large class of children to receive the sacrament of first holy communion administered by Rev. Father Duren. Her happy childhood days were spent on the farm home of her parents and her pleasant school days were passed in swift succession, in the St. Luke's Parochial school. At the age of nineteen years, on the 16th of November 1897, at St. Luke's church, Rev. Father Laurer performed the nuptial rite in which she was bound in marriage to Joseph Cramer. This union was blessed with six children, four boys, two of whom died in infancy, and two girls. She lived the life a most devoted wife and died a sacrificing mother. The death angel summoned her among the angels in a home beyond at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 1906, where she dwells eternally happy. The funeral ceremony took place from the St. Luke's Catholic church, Tuesday, March 13th, 1906, at 9:30 a.m., and the mother and babe were placed side by side, in her final resting place in St. Luke's cemetery, Rev. Father Laurer being officiating priest. Her untimely death is mourned by a father, a mother, four brothers, five sisters, her husband with four young children and a host of friends who paid her the respect upon the funeral day.
