  • Rosemary Margaret Markham died on 30 October 2007 at age 85 Rosemary M. Reuschlein, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, went quickly and unexpectedly to be with her Lord, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007. She was 85 at death. Born March 26, 1922. She was proud of her British and Irish genealogy. She was raised in Horicon, where her dad, Attorney William Markham, was mayor for 12 years. She graduated from Horicon High School (1940) and the UW-Madison (1944), with a degree in speech. She taught English in Pardeeville before marriage. Rosemary Markham met Earl Reuschlein at a UW dance and married him on Aug. 3, 1946. "Ro" as her husband of 55 years affectionately called her, became a fulltime mom and lovingly parented four sons and a daughter, all still living in the area. She was known for her ear-to-ear grin and infectious laugh, her creativity and devotion to her faith. Rosemary was generous to a fault and loved to ply every guest with food and snacks. She was such a proud mom that many of her friends knew more about the accomplishments of her children than they knew about Rosemary herself. She was a gifted soprano, who could break into song to her Lord or serenade her family on any occasion. She even broke into song in the emergency room, at St. Mary's Hospital. Rosemary loved participating in the Blessed Sacrament choir, the Ecumenical choir and the Blessed Sacrament funeral choir, for years and recorded her own music for when her day would come. Rosemary's immediate survivors include her sister, Patricia Reese of Plano, Texas; her four sons, Steven (Diana), Robert, Richard (Janeen) and John (Stephanie); and a daughter, Suzanne (Dietrich) Gruen. She is also survived by her seven grandkids, Matthew Niva, Kristin (Zach) Scheeler, Jessica Reuschlein, Alison Reuschlein, Eric Gruen, Mark Gruen and Hannah Reuschlein, plus many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mae Markham; a brother, Spencer Markham; and her husband, Earl.
