He was born the son of Henry and Ida (Radtke) Schenck. He grew up a farm boy in the rolling valleys and ridges of Loganville, Wis. Edmund joined the United States Air Force in 1940, he was stationed at Bohling Field in Washington, DC for five years. While in the service he met and married Jean Ryan in Culpepper, Va. on Sept. 28, 1944. Edmund and Jean raised their family in Reedsburg and Sun Prairie. Ed was a member of Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and The American Legion. He served as a city alderman for six years in the early 1960's, and was a successful electrical contractor in the greater Sun Prairie area. He loved his family time, fishing, hunting and card playing with his many friends. Edmund is survived by his loving wife, Jeanof Sun Prairie; five children, Judy (George) Babcock of Denver, Colo., Janice (Charles) Thompson, Jerome (Linda Woldt) Schenck, Joel (Deb) Schenck, all of Sun Prairie, and Jackie Schenck of Lake Mills; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Leona Krueger of Loganville, Selma (Harold) Kaun of Reedsburg, Lily (Victor) Rehr of Reedsburg, Clarence (Phyllis) Schenck of Reedsburg; and his sister-in-law, Maxine (Martin) Schenck of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters, Henry Schenck, Paul Schenck, Martin Schenck, Agnes Thieding, Herbert Schenck, Walter Schenck and Emma Schenck Muchow. A memorial service will be held on Sunday Dec. 1, 2002, at 2 p.m. in SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North St. in Sun Prairie, Reverend Phillip C. Kenas will officiate. Burial will be private. Family visitation will be held in the church chapel beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed to The American Legion, Sun Prairie United Methodist Church Youth Programs and Dane County Hospice. (Julie) Peper, of Manawa; Judy Giese (Stan Johnson), of Baraboo; Sandra Peper, of Baraboo; Evan (Tara) Peper, of Bristow, OK and Kerry Peper, of Loganville; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister: Louise Fritz, of Steamboat Springs, CO; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herold, on March 17, 2005; her parents; one brother: Ernest Schenck and two sisters: Agnes Manville and LaVera Krueger. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Daniel Lewig officiating. Selma was born on Sept. 8, 1912, to Herman and Anna (Shimniok) Jaedike and lived in the Leland area, where she was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Selma worked in the Prairie du Sac area. She later moved to Reedsburg and worked at The Grill in the 40's, where she met her future husband, Reinhold B. Flohr. They were married on May 29, 1946. Much of Selma's life was busy doing her gardening, knitting, sewing, crocheting and tatting. Her favorite hobby was baking homemade bread, pies and coffee cakes in the wood burning stove in her basement. She would share her baked goodies with her neighbors. She enjoyed traveling on her many trips and camping in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. She was blessed to have visited such places as Hawaii, Alaska, the Bahamas and Europe with her late husband and daughter. Selma was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Reedsburg and she was an active member of the Reedsburg Senior Citizens. Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Erick) Grieves; two granddaughters, Selene and Angelene, all of Wisconsin Dells; a step-grandson, Erick R. Grieves of San Diego, Calif; two step-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Bryanna of Seattle, Wash; a sister-in-law, Era Jaedike of Spring Green; three nephews, Donald Giese of Dixon, Ill., Donald Jaedike of Denzer and Ronald Jaedike of Leland; three nieces, Jan Emer of Plain, Sharon Martin of Janesville and Donna Grauvogl of Denzer; three cousins, Ruth Lichte, Wally Jaedike and Adeline Gilmore; special friends, Dorothy Nachtigal, Cassie Menchoff and Marion Kalepp, all of Reedsburg, LaVera Yanke of Leland and Era Jaedike of Spring Green; a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold; her parents; two brothers, Herbert and Richard Jaedike and a sister, Dora Jaedike. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at ST. PETER'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg, with the Rev. Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. He married Bernadine E. Gerdes on March 26, 1972, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 2011. Donald served in the Air Force, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.

He is survived by three sons, Gary (Meridona) Giese of Princeton, Gerald (Elizabeth) Giese of Chicago, and Gregory Giese of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; and one granddaughter, Charlotte Giese.

Donald also was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Marvin Giese.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, and the memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Frank Langholf, pastor, officiating. Military honors, accorded by the Dixon combined veterans organizations, will follow the services at the church. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Reedsburg. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Lillian Lampman.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vilmar, rural Greene, with burial in South Vilmar Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, Greene, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St., Greene and will continue at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Elizabeth Marie Schueler was born January 6, 1927, in West Point Township #6, Butler Co., Iowa, on the Schueler Home Farm, a daughter of August and Minnie (Jakel) Schueler and died Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. She received her education in the Brushy Mound Country School. As a young woman she helped out on the family farm.

On June 19, 1949, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Eugene Fredrick Salge, at Vilmar. To this union were blessed three children. Elizabeth raised her children and worked side by side with her husband on the family farm until retiring in 1984. She and her husband taught their children the farming operation and importance and care of their Century Family Farm.

She especially enjoyed gardening quilting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing games or cards with both her grandchildren and special friends. Elizabeth always had cookies in the fridge in case her grandchildren or great grandchildren should stop in. Elizabeth was a faithful member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed church sewing days and game night. Living family members include: one daughter: Dianne (Ken) Cerling of Mt. Horeb, WI; two sons: Don (Vernette) Salge of Allison, Ron (Diane) Salge Bristow, six grandchildren: Michael (Renee) Salge of Greene, Michelle(Mike) Olson of Eldora, Matt (Kristin) Salge of Waukee, Sgt. Dan Cerling of Baumholder, Germany, Kristin (Nicholas) Niemann of Black Earth, WI, Melanie Salge of Urbandale; six great-grandchildren: Taylor, Kaleb, Brynn and Henry Salge, Ciara and Otto Salge; two step great-grandchildren: Jaelyn and Jordyn Olson; one brother, Bud (Joy) Schueler of Allison; two nephews: Doug Schueler (Tonnie Lemon) of Bristow, and Bob (Lynne) Schueler of Granger. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
