Judy was born on May 16, 1939 to Margaret Heiser Schara and Harold Roy Schara in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She attended Lyons Grade School in what is now known as West Baraboo and graduated from Baraboo High School in 1957.

She married Cedric Fitch, Sr. on February 7, 1959. Together, they had two sons: Cedric Fitch and Dennis Fitch, and divorced 5 years later.

Judy then met the love of her life in July of 1966. From this union, they had a son, Timothy, who was born on February 17, 1968.

Judy was employed in the Finance Department at Baraboo Food Products, which later became known as Sysco Food Services of Baraboo, from September 1969 until July 4, 2003.

She truly loved BFP-Sysco and especially enjoyed being Mrs. Claus for the Santa for Kids Program. Through Baraboo Food Products-Sysco, Judy developed many long-lasting friendships and fond memories.

When her sons Cedric and Dennis attended West School, Judy served as treasurer for the PTA. When her son Timothy attended St. Joseph’s School in Baraboo, Judy became very involved in working Bingo and as a Money Counter for 14 years.

When St. Josephs began their famous Friday night fish fry, she was the cashier-bookkeeper for the first 14 years.

Judy joined the Daughters of Isabella, a spiritual women’s church group, in 1988 and held the officer positions of; scribe, recording secretary, vice regent and regent.

Judy was a die-hard fan of the Milwaukee Braves in the 1950s and was especially proud of getting the autograph of “Hammerin Hank Aaron”. She also was fortunate enough to obtain the autograph of Billy Bruton, George Crowe, Frank Torre, Chuck Tanner, Andy Pafko and one of the announcers for the Braves, Blaine Walsh. Judy has kept all the memorabilia from the Braves era in Milwaukee.

Judy had a special love of American History, and her real-life dream was realized when in June of 2003 she and family members vacationed in Washington D.C. Judy always prided herself on being able to name all the presidents in order of their term in office.

Judy, along with her mother, brother and sister-in-law also vacationed in Branson, Missouri where Judy met and had her picture taken with Roy “Dusty” Rogers Jr. and obtained his autograph on the book he had written Growing Up With Roy and Dale.
Roy Jr. informed Judy that in the last years of her life, Dale was confined to a wheelchair. Judy had to use a walker since 2001 for mobility. The Westerns were popular in the fifties at the Al Ringling theater and Roy Rogers was Judy’s cowboy hero.

Judy is survived by her sons, Cedric (Belle) Fitch, and Dennis Fitch; and a beloved granddaughter, Samantha (Steve) Stienmetz; great-grandchildren, Maycee Fitch, and Matthew Stienmetz; brother, Harold C. (Mary) Schara; and sister, Carol Schara.

Other survivors include, niece and God daughter, Jennifer Schara Bohen (Andy Delcore); niece, Christina Schara; special friend, Samantha Mohrbacher; and very special friends and confidents, Linda and Gary Gable. Judy and Linda formed a special bond and friendship from day one when Linda became an employee of Baraboo Food Products.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Harold R. Schara, a World War II veteran; mother, Margaret Heiser Schara Lucht; stepfather, Franklin Lucht; and son, Timothy Fitch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo. Visitation will occur at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Droessler Stephenson Robbins, 85, of Delafield, Wisconsin, formerly of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, went home to the Lord Monday, April 21, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Church, Hazel Green, Wisconsin, with Rev. Peter Auer officiating. The burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be held in the church from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. followed by the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet prior to the service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin, is assisting the family.

Mary Jo was born on December 21, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Cyril and Erma (Sitzman) Droessler. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Dubuque, in 1957.

Mary Jo was united in marriage to Donald Stephenson in May of 1959. They had two daughters: Kathleen and Kelly. Don preceded Mary Jo in death in September of 1962.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Robbins in June of 1965 and they were blessed with four additional children: Kristine, Karla, Francis, and Kalleen.

Mary Jo filled her life with faith and prayer. She had a devotion to Eucharistic adoration.

She loved to dance and play the piano. She excelled at arts and crafts, making ceramics to weaving baskets and restoring furniture. Trying new recipes was an adventure!

Mary Jo loved her grandchildren. Family gatherings were a joy especially if she could make some zucchini bread or pumpkin pies for everyone to take home.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (John) Sanders, Waukesha , WI, Kelly Robbins Stephenson (John Lipscomb) Cedarburg, WI, Kristine (Mark) Erickson, Naples, FL, Karla (Dirk) Willis, Kohler, WI, and Kalleen (Mike) Bruch, Wind Lake, WI; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Jones) Stephenson, Slidell, LA; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Cassie Godfrey) Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Michele Stoehr, Mandy Stoehr, Natalie (Luke Stanczyk) Erickson, Becky Erickson, McLean Bennett, Logan Willis, Sean Bruch, Ian Bruch, and Aidan Bruch; one great-grandson, Soren Sanders; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Stephenson; and a son, Francis Robbins.

Death30 March 2025David Awald Schulte died on 30 March 2025 at age 83 David Awald Schulte, 83, of Hillpoint, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

David was born April 13, 1941, at his home in Hillpoint to the late Awald and Lorna (Meyer) Schulte. He graduated from Weston High School in 1959. On July 24, 1965, he married Sharon Long and were blessed with three children. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Town of Washington. On July 9, 1994, he married Alice Jurgens Blum.

He was a faithful, dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillpoint, WI.

David loved watching the Packer, Brewer and Badger games. He became a Packer ticket holder after being on the waiting list for 40 years. He was in his glory hunting elk in Colorado, fishing in Canada along with deer and turkey hunting in Wisconsin. In his younger years, he participated in tractor pulls, softball and snowmobiling. He served as a volunteer firefighter for 50 years with the Hillpoint Fire Dept. since 1959 including fire chief for 25 years. He was on the Town of Washington board of supervisors for 30 years. Dave was scheduled to receive the Certificate of Commendation from Rep Tony Kurtz on March 31, 2025, for his lifelong dedication to his community.

One of his most important dedications was to his family which he cherished very much. He loved spending time watching his children and grandchildren in their different events.

In addition to his wife Alice, David is survived by his children: Jody (Mark) Schmitt of Cazenovia, and Michael (Kristene) Schulte of Milladore, his stepchildren; Kevin (Gail) Blum of Mindoro, Lisa (Tom) Bornhorst of Madison, MN, Stacey (Trent) Knutson of Moorhead, MN, Shelley (Russ) Redfield of Clinton, MN and Nichole Blum of Madison, MN. He is further survived by thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Carol (Jim) Kast, Donna Brandt, and Rick (Traci) Schulte, all of Hillpoint; many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Schulte, and sister Ella Mae LeMoine.

Funeral Services for David will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hillpoint. Pastor Tim Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until 10:45.

Burial will follow services at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hillpoint. A luncheon will be held at the church.

She was born August 31, 1945, the oldest child of John and Dolores (Vondra) Margan. Marilyn attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Platteville High School. After high school, Marilyn attended Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She married John Thomas Shilliam on September 6, 1966. During their marriage, they had two children, Thomas and Laura (Lauri). After Tom's unexpected passing in 1984, Marilyn met and was united in marriage to Donald Hastert on August 2, 1986, he preceded her in death on March 29, 2025.

Marilyn worked as a caring nurse in Platteville for 45 years, even taking on a teaching role at Southwest Tech for a few of those years. Marilyn’s enjoyment of bowling led her to Don and their happy marriage. She and Don took pleasure in cheering together for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers. Marilyn was also delighted to meet new friends and appreciated an occasional trip to the casino. After a long day, she relished relaxing with a good book and a bowl of popcorn. Marilyn’s most joyful moments, though, were those spent at the many memorable family gatherings she loved to host.

Marilyn is survived by her children Tom (Amy) Shilliam, Lauri (Eric) LaVoy, Angie (Steve) Scharnell, and Amy (Tim) Hansmann; her grandchildren Briar (Maddi) Shilliam, Jon and Sarah Scharnell, and Nick Hansmann; and her sisters, Patricia (Bob) Weier, Janice (Doug) Steinback, Nancy (Wayne) Steger, Barbara Margan, Karen (Al) Wagner and Lisa (Tim) Peacock; brothers, David Margan and Richard (Sandy) Margan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands and parents.

Funeral services will be at Noon, Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

He was born April 16, 1940, the son of Richard and Linda (Ferguson) Hastert in Darlington, WI. Don attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Darlington High School in 1958. After school, he based his life on love, service, and simple joys. Don served in the United States Army as a Personnel Specialist and Radio Operator for the 588th Engineer Battalion. He married Diane Bennett in Darlington in 1966 and, during their marriage, they had two children, Angie and Amy. Don was then united in marriage to Marilyn (Margan) Shilliam on August 2, 1986, at the Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville, WI.

A hard worker, Don began his career working at A & P Grocery in Darlington for 3 years before moving on to Dick’s Supermarket. He dedicated 38 years at Dick’s as a department manager, working in their stores in Darlington, Boscobel, Lancaster and Platteville. Don was a bowler, an apt GIF sender, and an avid sports fan, following the Badgers, Packers and Brewers. His tireless good cheer was remarkable. His favorite moments in life were “sitting and just visiting” with family, friends, and strangers who would soon be friends. He loved nothing more than a Blue Moon, a bowl of popcorn, a little Korbel and doing a crossword puzzle.

Don is survived by his loving wife Marilyn; dear children Angie (Steve) Scharnell, Amy (Tim) Hansmann, Tom (Amy) Shilliam, and Lauri (Eric) LaVoy; and beloved grandchildren Jon and Sarah Scharnell, Nick Hansmann, and Briar (Maddi) Shilliam. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Francis “Fritz” Hastert.

Services celebrating Don’s Life will be held at noon on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Chapel Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5247. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Platteville.

He was born to the late Edward Carl and Helen Irene Lewis in Ottumwa, Iowa, November 22, 1938. Ed entered the U.S. Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works and John Deere Dubuque Works as a pattern maker from 1964 until 1994. On June 28, 1969, Ed married Shirley Schulting Hoadley. They lived together in Dubuque, Iowa until her death in 1998. Ed moved to Santa Clarita Valley, California where he married Lucie Gehring in 2001. They relocated to Sun Lakes Country Club, Banning, California in 2003.

Ed was initiated into the Masonic Lodge #125 in Dubuque, Iowa May 27, 1966, passed on August 16, 1966 and raised on September 24, 1966. At the time of his death, Ed was in good standing with Masonic Lodge #125 in Dubuque. Ed belonged to the ABATE organization in Dubuque, holding the position of district officer. He was an excellent tennis player, a passionate golfer and was a Life Member of the Viet Nam / Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club. Ed belonged to the "W" or Whiskey Chapter riding club in Banning, California.

Ed is survived by his wife, Lucie Lewis; daughter, Michelle Lewis (Brad) Bowers; step children, Doris (Mike) Apperson and Fred (Janice) Elam; grandchildren, Riley, Dana and Rachel Bowers, Madeline and Emily Elam and Kiersten and Jason Apperson; sister, JoAnne Downing; half sister, Virginia Carnes; three nieces and seven nephews.

Funeral service Monday, August 13, 2012, at 11:30 AM, at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Graveside service Monday, August 13, 2012, at 1:45 PM, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #4, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California. A "Celebration of Life" reception will follow at the Sun Lakes Country Club, Main Clubhouse, Banning, California.
