She was married to Floyd Dan Stokes on March 24th, 1952 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage, prior to his death in 2003. Aside from working hard all of her life, Mrs. Stokes was very active in the community. She established an independent basketball team, sponsored by Coca Cola in the late 1970’s. She also helped found the first Pine Bluff Women’s Softball League. A member of the Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation Planning Commission, she was instrumental in the planning and construction of the softball complex in Regional Park.Mrs. Stokes was a member of the first Board of Directors of Jefferson Comprehensive Care as a patient representative and served as both Chairman and Secretary. Although health required a move, she held her membership at her home church, Shepherd Hill Baptist. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Stokes, an infant daughter, Mika Deanne, two brothers, Billy Joe Miller and Morris Miller, three sisters, Marceline Miller, Patsy Rawls and Dixie Allred, and son-in-law, Bob Rawlinson.She is survived by seven daughters, that she considered her greatest accomplishments: Judy Huber (Mark), Betty Edwards (Floyd), Debbie Everette (Danny), Susan Babin, Nancy Rawlinson, Cynthia Crouch, and Cathy Christiansen (Craig); two sisters, Pebble Wallace and Shirley Creasy; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19th, 2016, 2 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Bro. Danny Everette, Bro. Joseph Everette and Craig Christiansen officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by; son, Joseph E. Fischer of Pine Bluff; daughters, Mary Bailey of Star City, Elizabeth Knight of Sheridan, Catherine McCoy of White Hall, Martha Rushing of Pine Bluff; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday in the chapel of Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall with Father Warren Harvey.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm with the Rosary beginning at 7pm Monday at the funeral home.

The grandsons will be the pallbearers.

The family will be at 1200 Goodman Street in White Hall.
