Karen was born on Nov. 6, 1943, in Madison, the daughter of the late Martin and Edna (Wernick) Manthe. She was the youngest child of eleven children. On Nov. 11, 1961, Karen was united in marriage toKeith R. Kilen at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Together they operated Kilen Masonry from 1976 until his death in 1992. Karen went on to work at Madison Cut Stone (Division of Madison Block and Stone) from April 1, 1996, until her retirement on April 1, 2007. She was a lifelong memberof Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington. Karen did not want a lot of fuss, but she was amazing and deeply loved. Her attitude and acceptance of God' s plan were an inspiration to us all. Karen is survived by her loving children, Kevin (Chris) Kilen, Martin (Dawn) Kilen, Kelly (Curt) Kuhn and Donald (Sue) Kilen; seven grandchildren, Kai, Keith, Daniel 'Jake', Karen, Jamie, Abigail and Mason; seven siblings, Isabel Arneson of DeForest, Norbert Manthe of DeForest, James (Marie) Manthe of Perham, Minn., William 'Billy' Manthe of Neshkoro, Doris Welch of Wichita Falls, Texas, Raymond (Suzanne) Manthe of Oak Creek and Donald (Shirley) Manthe of Mauston; a sister-in-law; Donna Manthe of Madison. She is further survived by her husband' s family, Mildred 'Tooks' (Joe) Plishka of Windsor, Jerry (Judy) Kilen ofJacksonville, Fla., James (Diane) Kilen of Prairie du Chien, Tim (Doris)Kilen of DeForest and Sally Jo (Dale) Orcholski of Windsor; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; and also by her loving cats; 'Little Girl' Spunky and 'Big Boy' Henry. She was preceded in death by her mother (1986); father (1987); husband (1992); brothers, Gerald (1998) and Eugene (1999); a sister, Elaine Ziegler(2007); sisters-in-law, Sally Manthe and LaVonne Manthe; brothers-in-law, Chet Arneson, William Welch Jr. and L. Merlin Ziegler. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K, Arlington. Pastor Harold W. Sturm will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July15, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Rd.,DeForest and also on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.

Nevin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1950, and in 1955 received his B.S. Pharmacy, also from UT. In 2005, he was awarded a Citation of Achievement by the Texas Board of Pharmacy for completing 50 years of service. As a trusted friend and respected pharmacist, Nevin spent his professional career in Dallas and built a loyal customer following. Nevin was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gordon Willard and Gradon Willard, his sister Margaret Hensley, and his wife of 33 years, Wennonah Marie Simms Willard. He is survived by his son Brett Willard and wife, Polly Todd Willard of Dallas, his daughters Gaylin Willard Pouzar and husband Frank Pouzar of Dallas, and Janford Willard Hochenedel and husband Edward "Pete" Hochenedel of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren Brandon Willard and his wife Jackie Willard, Katherine Willard Fauss and her husband Jacob Fauss, Arianna Pouzar, Alexa Pouzar, Eric Hochenedel, and Rachel Hochenedel; a sister Ellen Jeanne Adair, of Corsicana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
