On May 20, 1954 he married Lorraine VerVoort at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He was the owner and operator of Ken's Electric Motor Repair Shop in Baraboo for many years and managed the Town of Baraboo Recycling Station. Ken was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Baraboo; his daughter, Kim (Bruce) Ardelt of Tomah; two grandchildren, Jonathan Ardelt of Madison and Katie Ardelt of Tomah; four sisters, Marie (Eric) Westedt of Loganville, Betty Oetzman of Loganville, Helen (Eugene) Luedtke and Faye (Blaine) Tourdot both of Reedsburg; two brothers, Verne (Adeline) Trachsler Jr. of Baraboo, and Duane Trachsler of Plain. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella Rohde; a brother, Ace Trachsler and his parents. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Lorin M. Bowens officiated. The Rago Funeral Home is assisting the family. She was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Washington Township, Sauk County, the daughter of Reinhold and Emma (nee Schenck) Muchow. On Jan. 19, 1941, Sarah married Edward E. Meyer at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. This marriage was blessed with five children. After her marriage, Sarah was employed at the Badger Ammunition Plant and later as a cashier at Kroger's Grocery Store in Reedsburg. She started the hot lunch program at St. Peter's School and worked there for many years. She was also later employed at Meyer Oil as the office manager. Sarah was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a member of the LWML and was active in several Bible studies. Sarah was a former Chairwoman of the Reedsburg Fire Department Auxiliary where she was instrumental in starting the Annual Spaghetti Supper. Sarah enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting. She loved to cook and bake, and had a special interest in fishing and playing cards. She is survived by her husband, Edward Meyer, Reedsburg; children and their spouses, Rev. Dr. Ronald and Lou Ann Meyer, New Berlin, Geraldine and Rev. John Ehlke, Spring Valley, Cal., Shirley and Allen Piepenbrink, Menomonee Falls, Gloria and Bruce Darnall, Lake Mills, Rosalie and Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin, New Berlin; 17 grandchildren, Rev. Repka at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. This marriage was blessed with one son, Leslie.

Through the years, Ella babysat neighborhood children; to them, she was known as Grandma Ella, which she loved. Ella was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Springs, serving in various positions, including Ladies Aid. She enjoyed baking, quilting, and crafting, and most of all, enjoyed playing cards with her family and many friends. Family was very important to Ella and always cherished the time spent together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton on December 22, 2008; brother, Arlie (Dolores) Muchow; sister, Sarah (Edward) Meyer; nieces, Rita Repka, Joan (McFarlane) Hanson; great-niece, Emily Griffin; brothers-in-law, Walter Repka, Paul McFarlane; sister-in-law, Gladys (Fred) Putz; mother and father-in-law, John and Clara Repka.

Ella is survived by her son, Leslie and Joan Stevens-Repka of Rock Springs;

Grandchildren: Jessie (Mike) Hunter of Pickett, WI; great granddaughters, Emily and Catherine Hunter;

Grandson, Luke (Jenna) Repka, of LaValle; great grandchildren, Alice, Diamond and Tanner;

Granddaughter Rebecca (Terry) Curtis of Cuba City, WI; great grandson, Evan;

Grandchildren, Brandy Koehler and Carmen Stevens-Repka, of Rock Springs;

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, rural Rock Springs. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Rock Springs in lieu of flowers.

Ruby was born on October 19th, 1930 in the Rock Springs area to the late Emma and Reinhold Muchow. She graduated from Reedsburg High and Sauk County Normal Schools and taught in 1 room school houses in Sauk County and later in the Sauk-Prairie Schools as a substitute teacher.

She was united in marriage on June 11th 1954 to Paul (Chuck) McFarlane of Sauk City. Ruby always was busy with an event or project. She spent countless hours volunteering at the First United Church of Christ as a Sunday School Teacher, singing in the choir, Bible school teacher, member of the Marie Circle and served on the Consistory. She also volunteered with Lifeline, Meals on Wheels and Eastern Star where she held a state office. She enjoyed a good bridge or euchre game, was an excellent cook and baker, and a loyal fan of Wisconsin sports teams. Ruby loved to plan a party and entertain; She hosted many events including an annual Christmas Eve gathering for the entire McFarlane clan. Ruby and Chuck shared many wonderful times throughout their 54 years of marriage including amazing trips all over the world and simply riding around in their 1957 baby blue Thunderbird convertible. Throughout the years, Ruby was an amazing support to Chuck and the McFarlane business.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Jean (Steve) Bachhuber, son, Tom (Margaret) McFarlane, a son-in-law, Jim Hanson, Grandson, John (Amy) Bachhuber, Granddaughters: Tara (Pete) Klun, Amanda (Matt) Moseman, Molly and Megan Hanson, Great Grandchildren: Jack and Charlie Bachhuber, Alex and Abby Klun, a brother-in-law, Paul Doering and a sister-in-law, Verda McFarlane, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck McFarlane, daughter, Joan Hanson, sisters and brother-in-laws: Sarah (Ed) Meyer, Ella (Milton) Repka, sister, Norma Doering, brother Arley (Delores) Muchow, brother-in-laws: Bob McFarlane and Jim (Lorna) (Cork)McFarlane.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday evening, October 11th from 5:00-7:00 at the First United Church of Christ, 504 Washington Avenue, Sauk City. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 12th at 11:00 also at the First United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bill Kapp officiating. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery.

Throughout her life, Norma was a teacher, both in her personal and professional life. She affected the lives of countless individuals as a person, as a friend, and as an educator.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at the SCHMIDT & BARTELT FUNERAL HOME, N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. A procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park for committal prayers and entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma's name may be directed to the Community Memorial Hospital Foundation in Menomonee Falls.

Thieding, a beautiful loving soul who embraced life, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family. Sharon cherished gardening and her life blossomed in many ways. Along her path, she planted seeds of hope, wisdom, love, and knowledge. She tended the soil and nurtured all that surrounded her. Sharon's Light brought growth and her beauty was a precious gift to many. Sharon was a consummate learner and educator. She was an avid reader who earned her education degree and teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin -- Platteville. She taught at a rural Loganville schoolhouse, Prairie View School; in the Monona Grove School system; and at Martin Luther Christian Day School in Stoughton. Knowing the power of encouragement and hard work, Sharon applied her wisdom and compassion to mentoring students in the Madison Area Technical College Outreach program for over 15 years. Sharon danced her way into people's hearts, including her lifetime friend and husband, Ernie Thieding of McFarland. She was energized by polka music and cherished full moon rises over Devil's Lake. Always planning for the next event, the rhythm of her life created beautiful music, family traditions, and many memories. Sharon's presence brought beauty to this Earth, radiating love, and healing the hearts of many. Sharon was born to Gerhardt and Zita Meyer of Hillpoint in August 1940. Her family includes husband Ernie of McFarland; children, Darren (Nicolette) Thieding of Ohio, Dawn Thieding of California, Kristin (Daniel) Powell of Minnesota, and Kurt (Amy) Thieding of Waukesha; grandsons, Tyler, Keaton, Grant of Ohio; sisters, Julaine Meyer of Reedsburg and Bonnie (Brian) Hauke of Waunakee; and brothers, Gerald (Karen) Meyer of Illinois, Gary Meyer of Virginia, and Richard (Sandra) Meyer of Florida. Friends are found amongst her dancing circle, neighbors, church circle, co-workers, and students. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at CRESS funeral home in McFarland. On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, a brief visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at McFarland Lutheran Church followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. A committal service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Westfield Township, Rock Springs at 4 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the McFarland Lutheran Church, the McFarland Lutheran Church Prairie Garden, or the Thieding family for a Memorial Scholarship Fund that is being established in honor of Sharon's love of education.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 1993; her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sally Parks; a grandson, Braden Parks; and sisters, Margaret (Willard) Kindschi and Esther (Edward) Sacharaski. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Merrimac. Since five members of her immediate family were or are motivated in firefighting, memorials may be made in Marion's name to your local fire department. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
