The late Rev. James Miller, born May 31, 1851 and died September 1, 1904, was the founder of the Millers Chapel Church located on Evans Drive in Middlesboro. Millers Chapel Church is still on the site of the original log cabin built by Rev. Miller. He was married to Amanda Brooks who died in 1956. The couple had daughters and a son; Lucy Miller Simpson, now 75 of Rockford, Ill; Nan Noe, 95, Cumberland, Ky; and a son, James Miller, deceased. A stepdaughter, Sudie Brooks Harris, 81, lives in Middlesboro and two other stepdaughters, Mary Georgia Turner and Lizzie Turner, and a stepson, John Leneon Brooks, are deceased.
