Death11 February 1998Myrtle Jeanette Grabhorn died on 11 February 1998 at age 78 Myrtle Jeanette Knoblock, 78, of La Crosse died peacefully in her home among family members on February 11, 1998, at 5 p.m; ending her courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Myrtle was the eldest child of ten, born to Oscar and Emma (Kendhammer) Grabhorn on January 8, 1920. She was married to Robert John Knobloch on September 30, 1938. Together they farmed in the early years of their marriage.
In addition to being a wife and mother of four children, Myrtle touched the lives of many others in the community through her independently operated domestic care work, which she carried on until the onset of her disease in 1997. Many of her clients and their families became cherished lifelong friends.
Myrtle lost her husband, Robert, in 1984, to heart disease and stroke. Since the time she focused her life on family, particularly her grandchildren and her many close friends. Myrtle's joy in life was in giving selflessly to others, and she will be always remembered in this spirit. Myrtle touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed now that she has been called to her ultimate reward.

``She is our grandma, and she will always be with us, for she left a part of herself in all of those who loved her.''
