Darlene married William (Bill) E. Kohlmeyer on November 2, 1951 in Loganville, Wisconsin.

Bill's job took them to many locations throughout the west. They enjoyed seeing the country and meeting new friends.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Harvard. She was active in her church, working with the Ladies Aid, sewing quilts and helping with various other activities. She worked at Motorola in Harvard until they closed and then at Walmart.

She loved to watch her birds outside her window and enjoyed playing with her Springer Spaniel, Brandy. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and fishing. She was an avid Bingo player at Valley Hi and loved being a part of the Activities' group.

She is survived by her two children, June D. Harris, formerly of Inverness, IL and Robert W. Kohlmeyer of Marengo, IL and his wife, Kim A. Kohlmeyer (Bronowski); three grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Wilhelm of Elgin, IL, Melissa Harris also formally from Inverness and Ashley L. Kohlmeyer (Roark)(Sean) of Lexington, Kentucky. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

June's husband, Dustin E. Harris and Darlene's brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1601 Garfield Road, Harvard, IL 60033, on March 18, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service immediately after. A private interment will be held in Baraboo, WI.

She was born the second child of Otto and Elda Hoeverman Kohlmeyer on Sept. 28, 1910, in the town of Blooming Grove, Dane County. She grew to womanhood in Loganville, where she worked for 15 years in the local telephone exchange. After leaving the telephone company, she was occupied for a short time in River Forest, Ill. On Oct. 30, 1943, she was united in marriage with William A. Tank. This union was blessed with three children: a son, William (Pat), and two daughters, Elizabeth (Richard) Hillestad and Ellen (Edwin) White. She is survived by six grandchildren: Tricia (Paul) Walheim, Deanna (Gregg) Gochenaur, Will (Lisa) Tank, Derek (Kelli) Hillestad, Melissa White and Meghan White. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Marge Kohlmeyer and Margaret Rudolph; many dear nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1974; her son, Bill, in 1997; three brothers: Fred (Mary), Herb (Marion) and O.G. Kohlmeyer; and by her sister: Bessie (Clarence) Pieper.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Burial will be in Black Hawk Cemetery beside her husband. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Good Samaritan Society of Lodi.

She later answered telephones for the Hammer-Hoof Funeral Home for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. Survivors include her sister, Viola Tank, Lodi; two sisters-in-law: Marion Kohlmeyer, Rice Lake, and Marjorie Kohlmeyer, Cary, Ill; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, on Dec. 2, 1980; her parents and three brothers, Frederick, Herbert and Otto Kohlmeyer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Amy Swanson officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Loganville. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 24, 1932 the son of Harry J. and Margaret (Page) Oosdyke. Dick was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from Rapistan with many years of service. He also was the owner of the former Midway Inn Tavern near Sheridan and thoroughly enjoyed serving his customers. He was a former member of Greenville Country Club, Greenville Lions Club and St. Charles Catholic Church. He enjoyed many friends in the Greenville area with his golf and poker games. In his youth he was proud of his time as a high school diver at Creston High School.

He was blessed with a loving marriage to Carol A. (Olsen) Stanley on October 9, 1993 and together they enjoyed living in Michigan and Florida. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his brother Thomas (Linda) Oosdyke.

He is survived by his children; Richard "Chip" (Marti) Oosdyke of Norton Shores, Christine Oosdyke of Charlevoix, Thomas "Tommy" (Darcine) Oosdyke of Belmont, Lisa Stanley of Bay City, Lori Stanley of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Jillian (Noah) Schwander, Jacob (Hilary) Bancino, great grandchildren, Eliza and Jasper, his sister Ruth Burkholder of Belmont, special friend Myrna Charlton of Florida, nieces and nephews, and Sandy Freund of Rockford the mother of his children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 1, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville with burial in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. Rev. Father Phil Salmonowicz will serve as celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.

She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Lorrain Olsen was born on November 9, 1938 in Empire to the late Orvald and Mary (Hoffman) Olsen. She married the love of her life, Edward Zientek on April 25, 1959 in Maple City. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2021.

Lorraine had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1998 after over 30 years of service. She has lived in the area all of her life, though she did enjoy spending her winters in Crystal River, Florida. Over the years, she has been a faithful member of both St. Rita – St. Joseph Catholic Church was well as Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter; Mark (Pam) Zientek, Jan (David) Wollet and John (Krista) Zientek, grandchildren; Brandon (Sami), Nathan (Mariah) Kyle (Frances), Samuel, Benjamin (Alexa) Marli, Bradley and Joshua and great-grandchildren, Willow, Antonio and Lainey. Also surviving are a brother and a sister; William Olsen and Barbara (Ernest) Zeigler.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, an infant son, Paul Zientek, a sister, Carol Oosdyke, a brother, Jerry Olsen, two step-brothers; Don Harriger and Versel Harriger and a sister-in-law, Linda Olsen.

Friends are welcome to visit with Lorraine's family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684. The family will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Rita – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 8707 Hill Street, Maple City, Michigan 49664. Rev. Kenneth Stachnik will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Rita – St. Joseph Cemetery.

Death11 November 2021Edward John Zientek died on 11 November 2021 at age 82 Mr. Edward John Zientek of Traverse City, Michigan, formerly of Maple City, age 82, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, November 11, 2021, and rests now in the arms of his Lord and Savior. Ed was born to Frank and Agnes (Watkoski) Zientek on March 29, 1939, in Maple City and was a lifelong resident of the area.

On April 5, 1959, Ed married the love of his life, Lorraine Olsen at St. Rita's Catholic Church. A few years after, Ed was drafted into the United States Army, proudly serving his flag and country.

In 1978, Ed and his good friend Jerome Bufka started the B&Z Well Drilling Company in Maple City, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2000. When time allowed, Ed really enjoyed woodworking in his shop, hunting, and smoking meat. He loved bringing his famous, homemade jerky to share at deer camp.

Ed was a man of great faith. He and Lorraine were longtime members of St. Rita and Joseph's Catholic Church and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine (Olsen); loving children Mark (Pam) Zientek, Jan (David) Wollet, and John (Krista) Zientek; grandchildren Brandon (Sami), Nathan (Mariah), Kyle (Frances), Samuel, Benjamin, Marli, Bradley, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Willow and Antonio; sisters Betty (Larry) Stachnik and Shirley Lawson; brother Don (Darlene) Zientek; many friends and other beloved members of the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Paul; and brother Robert Zientek.

Relatives and friends may call on the family during a time of visitation from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. A Praying of the Rosary will be read at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ken Stachnik at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at St. Rita and Joseph's Catholic Church, 8707 Hill Street, Maple City, MI 49664.
