She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale; a sister, Marian Meier; grandchildren Baby and Joel Henry Mertzenich; parents-in-law Henry and Julia Alt, and many other relatives and friends.

Pat was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, served on the Parish Council and taught Catechism for many years. Pat served on the Lone Rock Village Board and also worked as an election official. She was employed for over 25 years at Lands’ End in Dodgeville. Pat was an amazing woman with great internal strength, kindness, and many talents. She and Ron built and remodeled several homes and apartments all the while she was working full time. She was an expert seamstress and made or assisted in the construction of all 5 daughter’s wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses in addition to a multitude of other sewing projects, large and small. She was very generous sharing her talents and treasure. She always had a smile and a positive attitude. She was an extremely hard worker and led by example to her daughters and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and pie baker, and enjoyed teaching those skills to her granddaughters. She enjoyed making homemade chicken soup with noodles from scratch whenever a family member was sick. Pat loved woodworking and helped her daughters with many home improvement projects. She had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her sunroom full of plants. She also loved watching and feeding the birds out her window.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lone Rock, WI with burial in the St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Spring Green, WI. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, with a rosary at 3:30 pm and on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 10:00 until the time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lone Rock, WI.

He was married to the former Eileen Aspel on November 3, 1966 and the two made their home in Madison for 30 years before Tom went to the Veteran’s Home. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Christine Drea and his 3 grandchildren, Benjamin, Keagan and Shannon Drea all of rural Plain, one brother, Larry Drea of Hillpoint, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Eileen, his parents, 2 sisters, Kathryn Gelhaus and Margaret Lawry, 4 brothers, William, Joseph, James and Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto Ridge. Fr. Larry Bowens will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Special thanks to all of Tom’s caregivers at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
