Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Constance. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at church, from 9:30 am until service time. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is assisting with the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Johnson, Curt Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Ken Thoene, Marcel Kramer, and Pat Steffen.

Rodney Francis Lammers was born on January 13, 1940 to Alfred Anton and Pauline Teresa (Arens) Lammers in Hartington, NE. He grew up in the Hartington area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1958. After high school, Rodney farmed with his dad raising livestock and grain.

Rodney was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was also part of the National Farmer’s Organization and was involved with the Center of Rural Affairs.

Rodney is survived by a brother, Dennis & Rita Lammers of Blair, NE; two sisters, Jolene & Bill Johnson of Madison, SD, and Janice & Arlyn Berg of Edgerton, KS, and 15 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Lammers, and nephew Brett Lammers.

He was born July 28, 1945, in Frankfort, to Elmer and Mildred Lykken Kirkman; his mother survives in Frankfort.

Jerry graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1963. He then graduated from DeVry University. He lived in California for 25 years before returning to Frankfort in his retirement. Jerry worked for the ATF with the US Government for 30 years before retiring in 2001. He received the Albert Gallatin Award for service to the Department of the US Treasury. He was also a fire arm safety instructor. Jerry enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling especially on trains. He was a member of Frankfort Baptist Temple.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by five nephews, Jake Kirkman of Oregon, Travis Kirkman, Nick Kirkman, and Issac Kirkman, all of Frankfort; and his aunt, Lois (Estel) Rex of Mulberry.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, one brother, Dennis Kirkman, and one sister, Karen Harris.

Visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Terry Flynn will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.

In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by one brother, Jerry Kirkman; sister-in-law, Sylvia Kirkman; and five nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and brother, Dennis E. Kirkman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 12:00 p.m. to the beginning of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.

Growing up she lived in Kaylor and graduated from Menno High School in 1940. On Saturday, September 6, 1941, Esther and Paul Klemme were married in Parker, South Dakota. Esther loved baking and cooking for her family. Her grandchildren knew how loved they were when she would make each of them their own breakfasts when they stayed at her house. It was not uncommon for her to leave a warm loaf of bread in their vehicle. Church and family were very important to her. Esther worked hard both on the farm and at various jobs including the Good Samaritan Center in Scotland and Schmidt’s Furniture in Scotland. In 2008, Esther became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society in Scotland. Esther passed away there on Sunday, October 2, 2011 having attained the age of 89 years.

Esther is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul “Pete” Klemme of Scotland; children Gay Lynn (Ken) Konrad of Kaylor and Paula (George) Bauder of Scotland; grandchildren Chris (Kristi) Konrad of Mitchell, Cheri (Lee) Wittmeier of Tyndall, and Ryan (Kelli) Bauder of Scotland; great-grandchildren Clay and Lacey Wittmeier and Morgan Bauder; sister Francis Metz of St. Charles, Missouri; and sister-in-law Alice Klemme of Scotland.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Gotthilf and Louise Bietz, and one brother, Floyd “Buddy” Bietz.
