Robert was born February 26, 1937, to Mary and Leo Wood of Toledo. He graduated from Macomber High School, and worked for the City of Toledo Traffic Engineering Division for over 33 years. Never one to sit still, he enjoyed fishing, cards, attending garage and estate sales, and collecting tools. He spent many hours in his garage servicing and repairing items for himself and others. He loved all animals, and never met a dog that he could not befriend. He was active in the Catholic Church, and often volunteered his time for the church and local community aid organizations delivering food and clothing baskets to those needing help. Robert married the love of his life, Barbara Boos, in June of 1959, and they have two sons, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling and spending vacation trips with their children. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; sons, Daniel (Deborah) Wood and Jeffrey (Chris) Wood; grandchildren, Sonia Johnstone, Jaclyn Calderon, and Audrey Wood; step-grandchildren, Matt and Alyson Koch; great-grandchildren, Mathew and Julia Johnstone, Brennen and Damion Calderon; step-grandchild, Bre'An Calderon; sister, Betty Shultz; sisters-in-law, Darlene Dickens and Janet Boos; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Frank Marks; family friends, Phyllis and Rich Natal, Leon and Mona Richey, and Evelyn Plentz. The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. at the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Road in Oregon, Ohio. Funeral services are pending on Friday. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

William is survived by his wife Cheryl Imes, Muncie; his son Derrick Imes (Jennifer), Noblesville; daughter Marisa Delaney (Chad), Gaston; grandchildren Gabriel, William, Isabel, and Olivia; his sister Nancy Gleim (Rex) of Middlebury; his brother David Imes of Denver, Co. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Edmundson and Fran Belden-Anderson; three sisters: Beulah Stewart, Juanita Morris and Muriel Thomas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell presiding. Eulogists were Sam Edmundson, Wade Belden, Max Moomaw and Joy Peck. Music was "O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing," and "For The Beauty Of The Earth," sung by the congregation, with pianist Helen Stanley. Casket bearers were Sam Edmundson, Wade Belden, Brent Belden, Shawn Williams, Chad Minor, Jamil Bakri, Jerry Michaud, Todd Anderson, Kirk Anderson and Cris Anderson.

Burial was at Dighton Memorial Cemetery, Dighton.
